Dude that looks nasty!

So I have a tray that’s almost spent now but it got this weird nasty spot a few days after putting it in the SGFC and while looking at it trying to figure out why it looked nasty I saw movement. THERE WAS F4$@!! maggots in there dude. So I took a scalpel and sterilized it real well and did a biopsy around the area and cut out the spot and a bit around it so that I knew the remain mycelium was healthy. Poured a little splash of rubbing alcohol on that area and put it back. Tray has had a good 3 flushes and I’m waiting to harvest the last of the 4th before burying.

Be careful about spreading any nastiness around but it’s definitely possible you could simply remove the infected area and a buffer-zone and still have a good grow. Might want to cut out an extra wide chunk out to be sure no tiny traces remain that the naked eye could miss. If you can isolate and grow in a separate room then even better just to mitigate the risk of spreading contams in case this grow can’t be saved.
