First time using a liner. Did I do something wrong?
    #26843672 - 07/24/20 09:51 PM (3 years, 6 months ago)

I decided to use a liner for the first time on two shoeboxes. Both are slow to pin compared to my no liner box and most of the pins are on or near the plastic. What’s going on?

I thought I'd give liners a test because I was tired of cleaning out a bunch of shoeboxes, but it turned out the hassle of the liner wasn't worth it and stopped after doing up two of them

Funnily enough I'm having similar results, with just one massive pin coming out from the side where the liner is and the no liner boxes are pinning normally. And here I thought liners were a crutch for sidepins, but I hardly have any first flush sidepins with no liner, so I'm definitely leaning towards no liners after this little experiment but we'll see how the rest of the flush goes.

It's probably fine. Even if it's not fine, it'll eventually be fine. So it's fine.

Once you start using agar, you get a chance to know your cultures. They’ll behave a lot more similarly run after run than MS will, and you won’t have to worry about stuff like this. You’ll be like, “Oh, that’s my dude, always pinning first at the edges but he puts out three great flushes so I’m not gonna throw him in the fucking trash...”
