what are my mushrooms doing? 1

hi all-
my first tub died a dramatic, violent death to all manner of mold, but my second one has been going strong for almost six weeks with several flushes and over 8 lbs. (wet, of course) of fruit.
this is my first-ever tub, so i am still learning. i have been surprised at the pause in between each flush usually 3-5 days with no visible activity before it pins again. based on all my reading here, i have sprayed the mycelium daily with a good amount of water, and once the pins come up i cut way back on the frequency and amount of watering and put a small fan next to the tub. this seems to have worked well.
this week i have had several small groupings of mushrooms that have moved past pins, some growing as mush as an inch or two tall (my best fruit has been in the 6-8" range) before the top starts to desiccate, shrinking and narrowing and sometimes turning black.
anyone care to suggest what might be the issue? too much water? not enough water? not enough nutrients in the substrate left to push their size? i am obviously a noob, but the nutrient idea doesn't seem right to me, i'd assume if it was nutrient depleted at this point it wouldn't even produce pins, and it's producing a lot of them still.
thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Can't really answer your questions without seeing your agar, grains, tubs...The aborting of growing shrooms could be moisture related, air exchange related, spawn health related, temperature related etc.... Lets see the pics

8lbs wet is less than a lb dry. 1 tub could do a lb over multiple flushes but ya I would be skeptical as that would be a pretty killer culture and clean spawn is a must for a yield like that from 1 tub. Not impossible but highly unlikely from a noob for sure.
Kinda hard to believe but not impossible, just not likely from a noob

i'm not sure how we got on the subject of my yield or skill, and my success is just chance, not claiming any skill.
just wondering why the newest pins from the same tub seem to be shriveling.
last time i tried i couldn't figure out the picture thing, but will try now. i assume pics of the sad little shrooms and not the tub itself?

If it was mold, then you need to make better cleaner spawn. Also some pics of what happened would help a lot as well.

i only mentioned the weight of my fruit thus far to indicate it's been a healthy tub. pics below, thanks for any thoughts or suggestions.
first pic is the size of what the tub has been producing (after dehydrating, of course).
second is these weird shriveled ones coming up for the last 4-6 days. yes, the stalks show psilocybin bruising but you can (maybe) see that the tops of a few are actually black, and the heads are shriveled.
third is a close up of a few "unpruned" weird little ones that have been here for days with no noticeable growth.
fourth is the middle of the tub where i have still have a ton of pins emerging...

I’d munch it for sure. It just looks like a severely bruised Psilocybe cubensis.

so... no theories as to what the OPs shriveled black mushrooms are a result of?

They look like aborts to me. How many flushes have you gotten out of this tub?

No, natedog was just wanting you to double check your math. 8lb wet would fill up about 8ish jars like that. Its easy to make math errors
And Its relevant to your question, bc if you got that much out of a normal sized tub your sub is probably exhausted
Also, Cant see substrate surface conditions well, but to my eye it looks dry

After a few flushes on a tub I generally call it a wrap. Dont get me wrong I have had tubs push 7 or 8 flushes in the past but after 2 they are basically compost to me.
