Monotub stall? Correct setup?

Hi Guys,
I've had this grow going for a month or so now.
Just started my bulk colonization last Thursday (16th).
I went for a 1:4, Spawn:Bulk ratio. A Coir, verm, gypsum combination.
- 650g block of coir
- 1900ml verm (8 cups)
- 220g gypsum
- 3800ml water
All Pasteurized using bucket method.
I've used the TAPED HOLES method, rather than Gas Exchange off the bat, did a lot of research into this, seemed very widely debated.
Thurs 16th

This is how it's gone so far.
Friday 7pm (24 hours later)

I've opted for incubation inside a larger cardboard box, to keep 25C-26.5C temps. (Using a digital thermometer (poked through the taped holes) and heat pads inside the card board box... not in the tub)
---
Tuesday 1pm

---
Thursday 7am

As you can see, seemed good progress by Tuesday, but then Tuesday +42 hours. Literally 0 change, not even 1mm anywhere from what i can tell.
Should I just leave it be, see how the next 48 hours go? Is the no gas exchange going to work or should I use some poly/micro pore tape?
Any advice welcome. Thank you

Have patience. The timeframe you are working on is too short. Because of lower temperatures here (winter) my tubs can take 2 weeks or more to colonise, and another week to pin.

Hi guys, it's now 3 days on, and still nothing. Not even a mm of growth?
Each bit of mycelium coming out of the grains seems to have paused, there's tiy water droplets covering each one and lots of big water droplets all over the lid?
Thoughts?

Currently 25 Deg C. And I have a thermostat with 2 small heat mats inside the cardboard box to keep it between 25-26.

That might be a tad too warm and might be dehydrating the sub, remember the substrate itself will be warmer due to the myc releasing its own heat. I've broken up overgrown jars at night and it can be quite warm inside the spawn/sub. Ditch the cardboard box if the room itself is between 22-25C What light is the substrate getting?

Okay cool, I'll give that a go. Currently very little since the box is closed, if I ditch the box I think I'll need to get some more tape for the bottom since I peeled off the paint a little to take a look at the side of the sub.
Should I put it in a bag? Or is the light not an issue?

What paint? And I just noticed the top and holes are taped, that thing is probably suffocating.

I painted the bottom 2-3 inches of the box to not let light to the side of the sub.
Yeah I thought that might be the case? But there's so many people who say you can tape all holes and let the co2 build up?
I untaped the 2 biggest holes at the top and replaced with tyvek.
Do you think I should open all 6 of the lower smaller holes too? I have polyfil or tyvek available.

Myc needs air all the time my friend. If you seal your tub, it`s like wrapping in a garbage bag. You have a risk of stall air then, so you invite mold and other contaminants. It`s outdated to build up CO2 strongly.
You dial in your tub and place it from day one into fruiting conditions, so all holes are treated once due to your tek, and aren`t changed anymore, perhaps just a bit tweaking.
Just move the tape from the lid and unlatch or flip over.

Who is saying this, your deadhead grandpa? Willy Myco? The procedure you're following was outdated before I even knew this website existed.

Hahah
Almost every Reddit or forum post I've read, maybe 40 people? Saying you can just seal it up and take the tape off once it's done.

Doesn't seem to be any discolouration or anything, I think it's healthy. Do you suggest I get a clean environment and replace the tape with tight polyfil?

Yeah, that`s only a bunch of sheeps parroting Willy Myco shit.
I didn`t mean that you have contam, but you will for sure, if you don`t give air. So yes, tape off, set it up now as you want to fruit it, look for a glistening surface, and let it do.
You don`t need an ultra clean environment. You won`t believe, in what dirty conditions some people grow successfully, and i mean they grow open air So don`t overcomplicate things.
Good luck my friend!

Thanks buddy I'll give that a go.
What do you mean look for a glistening surface?
It's pretty glistening now to be honest! 😂

Just FYI this is another outdated practice -- there is no reason to paint the outside or any part of the tub. Light has nothing to do with pinning -- it's all about preferable surface conditions at the top.

Thank you everyone.
It seems to have frozen. Sadly it looks like it's gone into fruiting having only done 10/20% colonisation. Water beads and knots all over the top

Good grief give it some time mate. Channel that anxiety into another round of spawn or agar.
