New Kid Cudi & Eminem track. I still can't over how Em pushing 50 can still unleash lyrical ether like this. The delivery is insane. Just an absurd level of display on the art of rap.
I know I'm probably like the biggest Em stan nerd on the board but come on

What do you guys like about rap music the most? The beats, the lyrics, you singing along is fun once you know the song... does it just speak to you?
I appreciate the skill at ad libbing and poetry that some rappers can do but the typical subject matter, shitty treatment of women, and actual music don't do anything for me personally. Just curious what draws you in and you appreciate the most.
I mean this as an honest and curious question, not as a challenge or judgement at all.

I like old school rap. The beats and tunes were dope and the lyrics took you on a journey, they told a story.
Then, beats went flat, the rappers just repeated the same shit over and over and the lyrics became about the rapper telling you about all the shit he bought. It got wack.

Same here. That's why I posted what I did. Those songs are from my 20's.

I grew up on 90's/2000's rap, and I have quite a large library of rap tracks/albums in my playlist, but I will agree that generally speaking the content is pretty terrible. The morality of it particularly. Women are viewed as objects/possessions to be discarded, street violence is something to celebrate and the measure of one's worth is cash/cars/jewelry.
Sure not all rap is like this, but overall I'd say that the vast majority of it is, sadly. And unfortunately droves of kids listen to it and hear these things being glorified and they grow up wanting to be like the image that their favorite rapper(s) projects on record.
