weird agar contamination issue

So after I made LMEA agar plates pastywhite style i placed some using a spore solution and one using 1 grain from a colonized jar. The problem here is that the spore solution agar does not show any growth but the 1 grain agar plate does show growth but theres alot of small moldy spores all over the place. I don't know if somehow my SAB is contaminated or the room. I mix my agar 500ml water 10agar 10 lmea and PC 30 minutes. Is my agar mixture wrong? Also I dont know why there are mold spores all over the grain agar plate, because I only placed 1 grain and it smoothly on the plate. It has been a week since this, I need some help asap.

Is the mold only on the plate that you transferred the grain to and not the other plates? If so, just sloppy technique on that plate. You don't want to hover your hand over the plate or move it around fast. You may have been more in a hurry to get that little grain to the plate so moved in a sloppy manner and created air currents that led to the all-over contam. Maybe you opened the jar really hard because it was stubborn and it made a stong air current. Who knows exactly but that all over spread out contam is from the air.

Do you have pics? It sounds like it was technique if there’s mold all around on the plate, satellite colonies.
Syringe to agar has always been a pain for me and I see others complain often. My only advice (besides get a spore print instead) would be to use a small drop and then tilt the plate a little to spread the drop/spores out, maybe in a Z pattern.

Yes the mold is only on the plate where I placed the grain. It's mold colonies all over the place on the plate, there is however no mold on the grain itself or around it. Could I salvage this you think?

This is exactly as you describe, mini mold spores all around the plate. I have sporeprints do you think I will get better results just scraping the print on the plate?

You need to try to grab a spot of clean growth from the plate right now or throw it away. It's best to transfer from a contaminated plate very soon so the contams dont have as long to grow out and get in with the good mycelium. Also make sure to be very careful about still air to not disturb the cotntam spores (no flow hood for moldy plates.) Try to grab some tiny speck of clean growth furthest from the contam colonies. Take a few transfers, I'm sure one will turn out.
