Amanita rubescens?
    #26837366 - 07/22/20 12:21 AM (3 years, 6 months ago)

Habitat:
Mixed wood, this particular sample taken under pine patch of wood at 1500m.

Gills:
White.

Stem:
Around 8 cm, (3 1/4inch). Pinkish on the bottom part with white ring. About 3cm (over an inch) thick.

Cap:
Young specimen, around 8 cm, (3 1/4inch) in diameter. Color is creamy brownish grey with pink patches. White washable specs are present on the cap.

Location:
SE Europe

Time:
19.07.2020

Spore print color:
Bruising:
Didnt have time for any of these, mosquitos ate me alive! (80 bites!!!)

Some people consider these edible (blusher, also known as pearl mushroom in the region), but I would not dare eat Amanita sp, especially something so similar to Pantherina.

I think it is Amanita rubescens, though there might be other similar taxa in Europe I am unaware of.

I would not hesitate to cook this up and eat it.

While some Amanita species are deadly, the edible ones are very easy to identify for people who know what to look for.
