After a bit of a fail last time I went hunting again today. Think I may have found 1.... just 1 🤣
Can anyone confirm I'm on the right track now and not just picking random mushrooms?

Well done on your first find, it may only be 1 but you'll only ever find the first one once in a lifetime.
Wait for a member with a 'Trusted Identifier' badge to confirm your find, if you make your own thread with some more pics you may get a response from one sooner.

Thanks Karuna, it's good to know I'm on the right track.
My first in about 19 years! Now it's a lot harder tho as I'm hunting without help and the local parks that used to have them no longer have any!

I've been out specifically looking for liberty caps a dozen times over the last 2 months. Not a thing.
Going for the last hunt on thursday after heavy rain is forecast for wednesday. Got 3 spots to check that are most likely, but if I find nothing then I'll be giving up for the year.

Hello from the little one. I started my journey two days ago in a place called Martock, Derbyshire. Earlier today I met success with the help of this map - magicmushroommap.org. It took several hours of hunting to locate a good spot in the lowlands by a river. Now I feel like I have a good idea of which the more likely locations will be. We shall see. I have included a picture of my yield for your amusement. The knight is there for scale. If anyone would like the location please pm me and we can get started. I'll be on the lookout for more while the season is upon us.

Last mission of the season out to a local field in the North East. Two of us managed to pick these in 20 mins or so. They were all starting to rot here unfortunately.
Gills are a lot paler on most than previous finds and not much noticeable blueing (some look dodgy? but did check for the pellicle):

First season picking myself this year. I've found 30 or so in two fields after many hours hunting all over.
Still plenty of time in the season to find more? is there a chance the two fields I've located haven't hit their peak yet and just need a bit more time and rainfall?
Hunting in the Midlands.

found these in the usual spot, atop of a grassy hill with lots of cow dung after a few rainy days, last two hauls of liberties have been from this same spot; jet black/dark purple spore colour, prominent nipple present, jelly type membrane upon the caps, what does everyone think? http://imgur.com/gallery/G5ukZOa

This is my first year too, so I can't answer from my own experience, but people I know with better knowledge have said time to stop hunting is usually beginning of November where I am. Our best hauls were mid September, following the unusually warm and wet weather. You're a bit further South so the window might be a bit later. Other people in this thread from your area (Midlands and Peak District) and further South seem to be doing well about now.
Also every picker I've met so far has been overjoyed that this has been a bumper season... maybe they'll keep flushing for longer than usual? No harm in keeping on looking elsewhere and returning to your current fields until either the weather gets frosty or you can't be arsed any more!

Todays haul (around 400ft, open heathland). Hiding away in the long grass, wet and difficult to spot but nice and big compared to last collection. Season still sputtering a bit but it gets better by the week.

I also found one of those interesting orange sterile ones:

Nice finds Toby! I have found a small handful of the orange and sterile one's also, makes me wonder what their commonality is? Seems like quite a few folks have been getting their hands on them this year. First time for me.
