Found this little colony location MOrayshire North East Scotland at the side of a grassy path at the base of the trees that line the path. Sitting on top of some moss. They look like liberty caps to me but the other picture the purple ones i don't know what they are? Any ideas guys?

If you're in a forest, leave, and look somewhere else.

First time hunting, pretty sure they are not what I’m looking for though they are so small I can’t really tell. Any help? I thought I knew what I was looking for until I went and found some mushrooms lol. They have a small nipple I guess 😂🤣

Thanks, this is really helpful! They did seem to bruise blue and the spore print looked blackish, but I'm totally new to this so could be wrong. Will start a thread.

First year hunting been out a few times since the start of October, never picking anything as was fairly certain they weren't libs, but was out on a walk today and i just saw this out of the corner of my eye, i wasn't prepared so it got broken but can anyone tell me if this is a lib or not? I'm colourblind so it's quite tough and I want to be certain

Hello Shroomerites!!! Glad to be back on shroomery seeing all the lovely finds of the year so far! Hit one of my spots today for the first time in 2020 and after around 2 hours picking was happy to leave with around 5g dry the libs in my hand were a cluster of around 25 the most I've seen in one patch. Great start to our long weekend in Devon. Me and the Mrs will be dosing and continuing hunting tomorrow after an early morning reiki session... Happy hunting folks

Thanks druids. Currently sat enjoying a well deserved IPA
Quick question for anyone interested in responding... struggling to find a way to dry todays finds by the morning... would it be better taking them fresh anyway or do our best to dry them?????

I was just wondering if anyone has tried adding plant fertizer to an area of grass in say a park to encourage mushroom growth.

Second day picking on top of the mountain Still haven’t covered half of the field yet! Even found a few in a couple of fields lower down nowhere near the amount at the top, I’ve dried them out now and got them in a jar any suggests Or experiences with teas and stuff or how to take them would be great

Some really good pictures today,
@Markandspike its thought they like the grass cuttings after a mow, idk how true that is.
Really great journal, someone trying to cultivate them, its libs but not as we know it

@Bigmac84 Great pics! I would make tea out if it asap and it will keep in the fridge for a few good days. Or freeze it, ice cubes rock.
Quote:
Although it's psilocin that gives rise to the psychoactive effects, it is not as stable as psilocybin. Oxygen and heat will quickly degrade psilocin into ineffective compounds. Psilocin is so sensitive to oxygen, that when picking mushrooms, the stems quickly bruise bluish to dark black.
@Valleys boy Tea is easy, add a cup or two of water bring to boil/simmer, turn off heat, cover for 10-20mins, strain out shrooms (most of actives are in the water now), enjoy. Some like to add lemon. Some great teks on shroomery, just do a search for 'tea tek'.

@metalslug Thanks for the advice but in the end I came up with a way to dry what I had and weighed this morning at 4.7g. Nice day for dosing and some more hunting Just trying to decide on amount now. I'm thinking 2.5g should be nice 👌
