Konichiwa. Would these type of mushrooms (liberty caps) grow in very small isolated groups?
I think I saw about 5 today in a small group, but no more. I did take a quick photo, which hopefully will show up here:

One good thing is I'm fairly sure they aren't death caps.

Been a couple of years since I was went hunting, thought I'd have another go as I have plenty of free time now
Found in the midlands today, I'm pretty sure they're the ones but could anyone confirm?

May I ask whereabouts in the Midlands? Not your specific spot obv, just like the town or whatever. We've been out hunting too many times turning up sweet FA so we stopped going out a couple of weeks ago. Would be nice if they've finally arrived.
I'm in the Worcestershire area, got a sweet spot 30 minutes walk from my house. I've only been out looking the past few days, I think it was too warm here before that. Only found a couple on Sunday, but there is a lot more popping up after all the rain and colder weather, I'll be heading back out over the next few days. Give it another try! Happy hunting

Belated report back from our restless mission to Wales from W London. We went to Monmouthshire and found beautiful pastures such as these but... almost nothing . We made two of these small finds on our first walk by farm but just before being told we were on private property . I was so hopeful to return with a good harvest, we walked loads and found even better and more private spots. But a friend of a friend by Avergavenny shared that he's had nothing from his usual spots so far - reassuring to know it probably wasn't me. But the more time went on, the more susceptible I got to getting confused by lookalikes (i.e. last photos)! Surprised myself. Like a mirage after almost 20 years since I last went hunting and gathered hundreds.

Hey there shroomers! I had taken a break from hunting for the last 2 years previous to that I got out quite alot to my local fields which were always fruiting. Last year I tried s couple times with no luck around this same time of year! I went out for the 4th time this year to the same fields and they just don't seem to be fruiting anymore, has anyone else experienced this? Located in Scotland, clydebank just absolutely struggling atm, any advice?

Hi Bobbyd0806, keep trying man, may have to try some new places. There was someone a few years ago on shroomery from around Glasgow, who found almost regulary twice a week or so. Think they headed out to the hills just to the north, north/west of glasgow. Good luck!

Yeah looking like that may be my only option, I live around 600m above sea level so been checking farm pastures, both cow and sheep, like I said they were fruiting a few years ago but now absolutely nothing! Those hills you mention are directly behind me I think, couple hours walk from my house thinking thats my next port of call! Those hills are around 800-1000m above sea level but thought by now season would have started lower. Im not even seeing any indicator mushrooms or any lookalikes, weather has been warm for this time of year but lots of rain! A bit clueless but will try higher elevations soon!

They will be all over by now, I've had about 250 libs from spots which are all just a tad above sea level, though I'm a few hundred miles north east of you.
I was thinking the hills they went to were not that high, think they went out on their bicycle to get to them, more like hills in the 300-400m range.

Went out today and found 10 or so mature libs and many small pins that weren’t worth picking. Things are starting to slowly pick up in the SE, I’m in sussex so for all those having no luck in the SE it’s looking better though still hard to find many.

Whereabouts in sussex are you? I'm in eastbourne and there are a couple of sites on magicmushroomap that seem to have potential, but the temperature hasn't hit a consistent 14 or less. Apparently last year the prime time was 10th to 30th of october...

First time posting on here been following since last year and went for a little look last year and found two boys picking them so I finally got round to going myself this year, I got up to the fields I Knew they were picking last year and they’re right at the top couldn’t go no further up soon as I stepped foot at the top there was one looking right at me! And it didn’t take long to get the eye for them could t walk more than a couple of metres without finding some, had to call it a day I could see the rain coming in but on the way back down was even finding them popping out of the paths best first day picking I could of hopped for be back up there this weekend they’re everywhere, I’m in the valleys South Wales they were sheep fields by the way, I’ve got them on some newspapers drying any tips on drying? Storing and how many to take never had them before and beat ways to do it?

From the research I've done, you can dry them out by leaving them in a dry room on newspaper for 3+ days, or you could use a dehydrator for a couple hours. the low to medium dose is allegedly 1.4-2 grams of dried mushroom. Apparently lemon juice also helps for nausea and onset speed. Its best to do your own research and do it on your own terms though.

They're fruiting the best I've ever seen them in Leicester. Got some absolute beasts. 52g fresh in half an hour. Although, if you don't know a reliable spot or get lucky and find one straight away you could be in for a long day. I've had friends say they've looked all over and can find a single one. I covered 1/40th(?) of the field earlier (no bigger than the average garden) and collected dozens. As soon as I remember how to post picture I'll post some up. I can add them to my gallery and do it from there, can't I?

I’m East Sussex also not too far from Eastbourne. I’d say the map is a helpful indicator as my area is only the lowest chances and I have found some but Not many and they were very hard to find. I’d say a bit later into October will be the best time, around here it’s a little early to find loads. 2 years ago me and my friend found hundreds in November and December!!!! Think it was unusually mild though.
