Went out for a wander and came across a few potential Lib Caps. I'm a bit of a newbie so would appreciate any help ID'ing these . Thanks.

Sorry dude, no libs there.
All the mushrooms you have picked are far too large to be libs, also Gill colour, cap colour, stem colour/texture are all way off for libs. Have a good look at the confirmed libs in this thread, and you will get a better idea of what you are looking for.

Awesome, what a lovely flush there
The season seems to be starting quite slow, last year I was already getting full tubs from my best spot, went there last weekend and found... nothing. Zero. Nada. I’ve still got more than enough for my needs dried from last year but that’s not the point now is it?

It sure is.. get yourself out almost daily now.. make sure and pick ones that have had time to release spores, I ruined a patch of mine a few years back by being to greedy and eager and it never really recovered again since.

nay bad today one field flushing pretty hard (shrooms in fairly deep box, see 3rd pic) t'other not so much (shrooms in bag), all in hidden hard-to-spot, sheltered or shaded places. i'd guess either the Libs are on the way or another picker beat me to it! either way gonna try and drag me old bones out again tomorrow to see if can bag some more in new area

Hi all, hope it’s fruitful for yous wherever you are. I’ve been finding hundreds these past couple days and have fan dried most for 48 hours on a rotation with today’s pick to be fan dried for another 48 hours etc.
I have a quick question on dry storage method. After the 48 hour fan dry, I’m putting the mushies in a mason jar with a teabag that’s been emptied and refilled with calcium carbonate (desiccant) taped to the top to remove any extra moisture in the jar. The mushies aren’t ‘cracker’ dry but they sure are dry. Should this method be enough to ensure long term storage?
Happy hunting all.

Hello, quick couple of questions.
Some people say fields with sheep and cows and other people are suggesting cricket pitches and golf courses. Are all locations good? What are the reasons for each?

the main reason (i think) is that many pastures and sports pitches ain't ploughed so the mycelium isn't disturbed and can flourish

Also, could someone tell me what size I should pick at? As I don’t want to be picking too early. I’ve put the ruler in there for a guide
