Yo blazeyy. Hope your doing alright?... When I saw the red pill blue pill picture in your signature I realised I'd not seen you posting for ages. Glad your back.
I'll be heading off to search for liberty caps in about half hour so hopefully in an hour I'll have pictures to share.

if this thread continues until december without another ID request i will give 75% of my remaining findings to the first person to do a lib ID request in their own thread after the time i posted this.
that challenge lasted a whole two minutes
maybe this thread should be changed to: Official UK Liberty Cap ID Request Thread 2020?
i am so happy you read my post! i was about to end it all when i started reading all the ID requests that followed my post

Went up to 'captown' on Friday (yesterday) lunch - it is really popping off now
The recent rain and drop in temperatures has really got things moving - not just libs; roundheads, panaeolus, mottlegills - lots of everything out.
Got around 200 libs in about an hour of picking...and just heading back out now
Figure I have about an ounce and a half cracker dry this year from two picks and could easily double that today. Happy times
Peak District - circa 350m.

Hit one of my spots today for the first time in 2020 and after around 2 hours picking was happy to leave with around 5g dry the libs in my hand were a cluster of around 25 the most I've seen in one patch. Great start to our long weekend in Devon. Me and the Mrs will be dosing and continuing hunting tomorrow after an early morning reiki session... Happy hunting folks
those are some particularly juicy looking specimens there bigmac
here are a few field pics from further ramblings in the peaks a couple days ago
i am proud to say that i was walking around for 11hrs and have no idea how many i picked or what it weighs,,all i know is that i have more libs and am content
plus a home pic of my fave from the day..my little petit fleur
i also picked some very interesting sterile libs with blueing gills. however, i won't post pics here until i have confirmation from an ID thread i started.

2 hours picking this afternoon in the Peak District...
They are really out in force now in the high peak...finding flushes like this all without having to move at all, every couple of meters.
Got these all within one meter of each other...
Loads of beautiful specimens

Afternoon all.
So reporting back from a morning on Dartmoor, and i've learned an important lesson today... which instead of going up at the crack of dawn, it's probably best to start hunting around 10am, when the little chaps have had chance to dry a tad & change colour so they're easier to see!
The first spot I planned to go to through a tip off wasn't very fruitful, probably about 15'ish or so. I decided to up sticks and go to a spot i'd been too previously. On the way however, I stopped at a place that just looked good. East facing slope, sheep grazing, scruffy tallish grassy areas etc, and on quick inspection there were quite a few other specimens around, hence I jumped out and went for a forage.
About 15 minutes in I started hitting the money, and after a few previous not so successful trips, this time I was buzzing to have some consistency. Tunes in my ears, the sun was out, I was loving it and found the whole process just so therapeutic. At one point there was a favourite song playing, quite an emotional one that reminds me of my wife & little lad, so I stopped looked up and sucked it in for a few moments. Then looked down literally right under my feet, there was a little patch of the beauts looking up & saying hello to me. Just felt as if it was meant to be.
Anyhoo, great morning. So happy to find a decent spot as I'm relatively new to the foraging thing. Have weighed in at about 65g wet, so proper chuffed. Can't wait to get out again now.
Happy hunting! xxx

V envious about all your successful missions today. Well done. 3 hours cycling round a huge grassy area near London today and I think I found one. Lots more similar looking ones though today, than last week - so maybe a sign that the time will come soon. Temperature dropping and rain forecast in next few days.
Anyone near London had much luck recently?

Hello there!
I don't post here very often, I am not a professional but I am fascinated by fungi (especially the magical). I have read and learned a fair bit from this great website since becoming aware of it around 2012.
I'm here to show you all my first half-decent haul ever. I've had an eye open for the little blighters for years but this is the first time I seem to have found a sweet spot and the conditions are probably just right. Unfortunately I haven't got a dehydrator yet, I'll be puchasing one in the very near future when I can afford it. For now they shall have to dry themselves out. Any other techniques of drying that I should try? Also, if there's any experts here who see any suspect imposters in there, please let me know. They all look right to me...
Hope everyone has a good season and a groovy time

Hey Ragu Some of my best finds to date. Right other top of the moors. Think I've hit the season mid way through on previous years as found most lower down and small but in large quantities. Yesterday I ventured further than normal and alot higher up and it paid off! Decided not to dose today as felt a bit melancholy after reiki (first session ever) Going to go on a proper all day walk tomoz, 2.5g dose followed by trippy hunting lol.
You have some awesome specimens, especially your small flower lol.
I also found some sterile libs last year. Everything looked in order except for the gills! Transpires that they are exactly what u think they are, libs with white gills lol. I'm not a T.I. but I'm confident in my id abilities now to the point where I could say yay or nay to someone wanting an identification.
Anyway long post lol happy hunting mate looking forward to an epic season 👌

Sorry to be an arse hole.
Best thing to do is get out and look. Check all the type of places people have mentioned before and be persistent.
I doubt anyone .I know I won't give up my fields especially on a public forum.
For the reward it brings it should be hard work. It's definitely worth all the effort you put into the hunt.
Good luck and happy travels

here are the sterile libs from the other day. i was intrigued to make an ID thread about them due the heavy blueing on the gills a few hours after picking. not something i've seen before on steriles.
one of them was a stonker, never seen a sterile this big and chunky
enjoy your walk/trip/hunt tomorrow bigmac..think i'll do something similar
happy hunting everyone and please remember to bring an extra carrier bag with you to fill with any litter along the way..mother nature will thank you in more ways than one
