Are Flowers Still The Way To Go?
    #26835666 - 07/21/20 08:36 AM (3 years, 6 months ago)

I've always bought my women flowers buts it's been four years since I've had a girlfriend. Is that still a thing? Random bouquets? Or will I just be wasting money?

totally depends on the women, personally don't think it is a thing but im really not a romantic in the traditional sense.

it can't hurt as long as it is appropriate time wise in your dating.

if a girl gives you shit for getting her random flowers kick her sorry ass to the curb.

unless it's your 25th year anniversary and she's told you repeatedly she's not really a fan of flowers and would prefer like...a nice dinner instead. That is literally the only situation aside from creepy stalker stuff that I can dream up where I could see a lady being less than pleased to recieve flowers.

But for your purposes? Yes. Flowers are great. I also would suggest asking too! 'do you like flowers' is perfectly fine and innocent, and it's still a surprise when you do end up getting them.

Unless she has allergies then yeah. I imagine an adult lady would know what flowers she's allergic to atleast. Ask her about allergies casually, unless you already know. I can't see why she wouldn't want flowers, lol. Buy a nice vase too? Worst case scenario she thinks it's sweet "but no" and it's a win anyway.

I always find it weird on a first or second date, since you mention you haven't had a girlfriend in a while: not sure where you are with the target girl.

Personally I think something like flowers are nicest as a "just because" gift and unexpected. A situation where I am elaborately presented with flowers (especially if delivered in front of others, like sent to my work) just makes me feel pressure to show how thankful I am and appropriately care for them. You try bringing flowers home on public transit 🤪

If it's a birthday or some sort of planned holiday then I'd prefer something that I'll actually use and reflects my personality or interests rather than flowers, which are sort of generic unless she specifically says she really likes flowers. A book I've mentioned I wanted to read, a candy bar I said I like, it doesn't have to be elaborate. Flowers to me fell a bit like the last resort if you don't know what else you think I would want.

YES! A single rose is really cool and easy to carry around, or put in the hair. Also a rose color has meaning.

Give her whatever.  It's not about what you give, it's the thought that counts.

Absolutely. It sounds cheesy talking about it but a girl really appreciates it especially when its by surprise.

I just sent sympathetic flowers like 2 weeks ago for a Covid death. Its a universal sign of thoughtfulness.
