I want to hear what everyone is using for automation for controlling temp, humidity, FAE, etc.
I am finding ways to control the growing environment electronically. This way I never have to open the monotub until harvesting. I want to share that I am controlling humidity and ventilation. I am using a humidifer piped into the monotub and a humidity sensor that turns on/off based on humidity level as well as fan the tub 1 min every hour. I am using a Raspberry Pi. This should work for a room too. Then it's displayed on a webpage to monitor the numbers www.splash-tiles.comĀ The photo updates every 4 hours to see growth and stitch together a time lapse video.

Great idea to use the Pi. Did you write the code yourself or use some program?

Did a few lines of coding and attached camera and humidity sensors to the Pi board. Pi also controls the humidifier turning on/off.

I'm surprised more people don't use those for that purpose. Of course we don't have as many commercial growers on here as we did at one time, unfortunately...

Automation seems like the obvious path for commercial guys. I would think that sharing info is rewarding in itself. I see lots of videos on youtube from commercial growers. Maybe tricks of the trade are closely guarded on the commercial side?

Yeah I think the "big guys" are fairly secretive, but we used to have a handful of really good, knowledgeable farmer's market to medium volume growers on here, but most of them seem to have disappeared!
