You should see new pins within a week. Seems like day five would be about average ime.

Looks alright, maybe could’ve cut a little closer on a few but really the only difference is you’d have .1 more dried stem lol.

The little ones in the second pic I would’ve pulled, they’ve got the look like they won’t do much. It’s good to leave them on now so you get a feel for what to leave in the future.

I soaked my substrate in water a couple of time after the first flush.
The sub turned green and I never have done It since.

It's a preference thing.
It works for some I guess, but not me..

I'm Into letting It run It's coarse. I do like pouring water down the side of the tub just to keep the sides and the bottom wet after the sub has shrunk from the sides.

It look like your going to be happy with the second flush...

Hey... Did you make any spore prints? This Is the time to learn that process.

Good luck and keep the pics. coming..

Ive never added water to any tub other than hydrating the coir initially. I also give zero shits about any flush after 2

I didn’t make a print . I will with the second flush . The syringe I used was about full with year old spores . Couldn’t there potentially be potency lose with the spores in the syringe being over a year old ?

I always make new prints. I never mess around with spore syringes.

It's always best to work with fresh spores. I store them In the fridge In vacuum bags.

It shouldn't effect potency If Spores are old.

Hey I have a question regarding veils breaking and and selective harvesting . In this photo you will see the right half of the tub that are still growing but just a little slower . There has been a good amount of veil breaks in the other side that’s not in the photo and that’s what worries me is the spores dropping and stunting the block . Some caps are flipping up a bit but I’m wondering if I can wait until later to harvest ? Thanks !

You can wait but I’d just grab the ones that are done before spores drop.

:whathesaid:

You'll have a nicer looking product If you harvest before the caps open fully.

Is it acceptable to cut the stem just a bit down from the cap or can you just pick the cap off that have fully opened while you are waiting for the others ?

Cutting the cap off is fine, that’s the go to move when part of a cluster finishes way before the rest and you can’t pick it without hurting the rest.

Hey quick question . I have never dealt with this kind of mycelial coverage . It’s very pillowy and covered pretty quickly but has some discoloration . It doesn’t smell sweet , it smells normal . With this coverage I put this tub into fruiting conditions . There was a different millet used . I’m just so curious on this very pillowy dense mycelium so if anyone has any info it’s greatly appreciated.

Looks like a reaction to something, possibly heat stress, bacteria, or a white mold lurking. Would need more information to make a better diagnosis.

Inoculation methods, spawn prep, fruiting temps would be a start. Any pics of those items would be good too.

Inoculation is done under a tub with holes cut out or hand . I must a little bit of water to get bacteria in the makeshift hood to fall . Then in inoculate with a syringe , flame the syringe and let cool. My spawn is coco coir, vermiculite and gypsum . That’s pretty straight forward I just mix that with boiling water in a 5 gallon bucket and let cool overnight . Fruiting temp is in the mid 70s , at night it’s around 73 and can go up to 78 .
