Ziplock Bag ( or any bag ) FC

Hey everybody! Back at it again with my bag fruiting chambers. Put this BRF cake inside this plastic bag(would have used a gallon ziplock like my other grow but didnt have any) on Friday and then had to leave town for the weekend. I was a bit worried because I wouldnt be around to mist and fan but to no surprise it didnt matter at all. Came home today to pins starting and the cake looks healthy and happy.
I am writing this up as a reminder to noobies using PF Tek that a SGFC is not the only option. It can be a b*tch to set up with all the drilling and what not. I just usually grab a gallon ziplock bag and throw some soaked perlite at the bottom and set the cake (with foil) in there and wallah! Just poke some holes for FAE and just mist and fan once or twice a day. If you notice the walls drying up too quickly, you poked one too many holes and just tape them up to lower FAE. Its pretty easy to dial in.

I had 2 half pint cakes to spare after shredding the rest to bulk myco bags. This is similar to what I did with them. I bottom watered them for an invitro dunk after washing all the dry verm off. I added a layer of CV and tossed them in ziplocks. I open them once a day for GE. Casing layer is just about colonized so I'll punch a few holes in the bag and cover in MP tape. They're PEU so I didn't want to promote blobs by not casing. We'll see how they do top fruiting.

I'm sure they'll do great! Good luck man. Would love to see some pics once you're successful.

Had a bad rash of gnats recently along with some trich. Decided I'd use bags for a bit to get a better handle on them. The myco bags are fully colonized now. May need to add a thin layer of casing on them. I'll take pics once I see pins

Another way you can do this is to leave the BRF cake right in it's jar (you can birth it to dunk and return it) and fruit off the top with a baggie placed over the jar

This is actually a great idea. I have two other jars finishing up I may try that with. Thanks!
