Yesterday I did work in the AM. Forgot to turn the AC back on. Came back to 90 degree house, sleepy pets, and a pissed wife.

No need to turn it off, just move it away from any vents or turn the arm holes away from the vent. I used to turn mine off,  but not anymore.  Your technique is more important than turning of the a/c

Good to know. Was curious about attempting with AC on.

So last night I PC'd some grains and told the wife detailed instructions to shake the grains when the weight dropped.

She shook the whole PC flooding my jars!

Although I can turn my A/C off, the fan in my place stays on permanently to keep airflow moving though the building...

I throw my raincoat over top of it and stack books on top of it to hold it in place. I'm hoping this will reduce airflow but maybe it is just diverts the airflow... Either way it makes me feel like I'm safe from contams whether or not it works :tongue2:

Shit happens, at least it was only one qt jar. Stayed up later then I wanted re-pcing the grains.

I had a win though as she wanted to do a tissue biopsy and she has slightly more surgery experience then me. First time getting her to do mycology. She loves surgery type things and harvesting.

Has anyone else ever had a dream that they are mushroom mycelium?
Quite a while back I read about people colonizing and fruiting from plush bears and shit then I read someone colonized and fruited from a towel (I think that one was pastywhyte only because I saw it recently brought up).
Anyway some years back after reading that kind of shit and having mushrooms on the mind all day I eventually went to sleep and had a crazy dream where nothing really happened.. Almost nothing at all, but I was a fucking colonized towel and DAAAMN was I thirsty. That's all that I could do was just THIRST for some water. It was really strange having a dream where my thoughts were pretty much all gone and I was literally not human with only very basic needs. And Jesus Christ did I need some fucking water.
Looking back on it I wonder if I was watching South Park that night. all the reading material provided by the shroomery plus possibly maybe seeing towelie on SP... Maybe.

I also have a really bad ass story that happened in real life while I was tripping shrooms. I posted about it some years back under a different username and I kind of consider reposting it but at the same time I might have been an asshole before and I don't want to be mixed up with my old self if you know what I mean. I don't think I'm currently looked at as a giant asshole and I hope to keep it that way.

I confess a string of failures has my tubs empty and my compost full. I'm relearning oat hydration. It's much more finicky than just soaking wbs. I'm also trying out poke transfers, li, unmodded lids, and I think the 100% humidity of the last couple months may have affected my agar powder. It isn't setting like it should.

The learning curve is steep but if you don't step out of your comfort zone you never will discover anything more efficient.

Also avoid eBay sfds. All of the ones I got were not actual sfds. After 10 PC cycles each under 40x magnification I can see holes in them. The only ones I that were intact were the ones another member sent me. I may have been scammed or they were cellulose and not foiling them during the cycle broke them down.

I bought sfd off amazon specifically advertised for mush cult and had 90% failure rate. Definitely gotta find the right source.

I was really surprised how much the weather warming up increased contams. If I had started growing a few months later than I did I would’ve been super frustrated.

Bodhisatta has a great oat prep tek, his teks are tried and true, if you follow them exactly you won't have issues.

I confess, being sick has caused me to be unmotivated to do mush work. I did harvest and dump out some old tubs. Still. Only did one clean session and spawned two tubs.
