Pan Cyan question.

Hey guys.
I've just inoculatet a couple of bags with pan cyan and i have question before spawning it.
I will be doing the JOC tek but when he's talking about casing, he states that he wis using hydrated lime/fulvic acid to adjust the pH. That means that the peat moss he's using has a pH above 7,5. The only peat moss i can find has a pH thats 3,5-4,5.
Could i use natrium hydroxide to raise the pH, or am i looking at the wrong peat moss? Its's called "spagnum" in my country.

Hydrated lime will raise the Ph.
Can you obtain jiffy mix or cactus soil? They are mostly made with peat, perlite and sand and are usually Ph adjusted as is.

Then why would he use an acid instead of hydrated lime?
I can get cactus soil yes, but it contains fertilizer and it's pretty expensive i think

I believe he had said he did that because he was getting better results. Could be wrong. May just want to reread it.

Yes it says that in the tek. But why go from a base to an acid when adjusting pH. That's the part that really doesn't make sense to me.

It doesn’t make much sense as a pH buffering or stabilization agent. Might be useful in species that need a specific population present to initiate a pinning response like some species of Agaricus. Perhaps jake knows something we don’t. Someone should ask him.

He did not go on with the acid, so hydrated lime it is.
Will it be a problem using cactus soil which contains fertilizer? The soil is also used for plant cuttings so it can't be that much.
