Caught Growing Mushrooms in California

Does anyone know of anyone personally, that was caught growing mushrooms in California recently or within the last 3 years? What happened to them? How much were they growing? any details would be interesting to hear. I have never known anyone that has gotten in trouble with the law in this regard, in California. I guess which county, and now the city, would depend heavily on the outcome.

A couple FOAF's relatives got arrested pulling up to a 300+ plant field with nutes and other supplies. They kept their mouths shut, were sent to holding for a couple nights then released on bond. Had to go to court every couple months only to be told the date was pushed back. After a few times, they get a letter saying case was dropped. I want to to say it was NorCal somewhere. I think since it's outside it's hard to know who the plant's owners were, if any and quite frankly they have bigger fish to fry.
People out there do things that people elsewhere wouldn't dream of. Suburban backyards packed full, no effort to hide anything because no one's worried... When smalltimers get busted it's usually by the County Inspector, they'll be given a set date to take the plants down before being fined per day. Lord save you if you disobey a fire ban or litter, though. They will send helicopters for a camp fire.

I changed the post, cause I was referring to mushrooms, should have been more clear.

Nope, never heard of that happening. It's rare a mushroom grow gets busted anywhere, if you read the news articles reposted here you'll notice that about half the time the cops came for another reason, ie stolen property, hitting their gf, meth lab etc. and accidentally found the grow. In my opinion if it happened a lot would come down to the specifics of what they found, who you are, what county and how. It's class 1 manufacturing but it's also shrooms not phentanyl, there's more and more evidence and movements to medicalize it and there's millions being poured into product development already, basically where weed was in the early 00's.

Nah, the laws on psilocybin cultivation haven't changed in a while.
People who are caught usually get 3 years of supervised probation.
