First go-round with ATL#7... fully colonized about 1 week ago. What's the general consensus on how long to wait for stones? I've seen everything from a few weeks to a year... is there a general rule of thumb with these? Also, when I do decide to break it open, do you fruit these like cubes or are they more finicky like Pans? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Jalisco sclerotia has a reddish purple hue to it. Was a pain to clean had to use a toothbrush. The toothbrush works amazingly well though.
If your just growing for stones leave it for 3-6 months i hear the longer you wait the bigger stones and more potent they get. There no definite time line though. When you start to see them is when you get them and when they look big enough is when you can harvest.

Good to know. Thanks. I have a few more jars that are about a week out still... I'm planning to just leave them on the top shelf in the room...

So I just ate about 2g of fresh tamp stones. Was gonna eat a lot more but they’re gross and I just wasn’t that into it.
Anyway 40 mins in and I can definitely feel something. It’s like when I take a microdose that’s too big.
Seems like they’re pretty strong for three weeks old.

I didn't end up eating mine last night and have my kids today so dehydrating rn. I picked the fruits this morning left the stones and aiming for another flush.
I usually blend my cubes up with a coffee grinder and melt down a king size cookies and cream bar per every 2 gs. Funny thing is I love the taste of mushrooms but gag on these, might be my ego trying to reject the inevitable lol.

When I've grown stones I usually dry them out completely then grind them up with a coffee grinder. Then I pack the powder into gel caps. I can fit about 300mg consistently in each. Great for microdosing and avoiding the taste. Can also pop a bunch at a time and trip pretty well.
I've grown Galindoi in the past but currently have ATL #7 and the Beulah, FL strain growing. Does anyone notice much difference in effects between different strains of stones?
I've also attempted to fruit them in the past but had no success. Going to try some of the teks in this thread this next time around!

Beulah is pans isn’t it? I just got a print.
Did the dry stones mess up your coffee grinder? I’ve heard people have problems with stones dulling the blades.
I always dose capsules too, hate the taste.

The spores I received were labeled as P. tampanensis 'Beulah, FL. Rediscovery'. I also have a pan print from Tampa, FL.
The Beulah spores germinated much quicker than ATL #7 that were inoculated the same day. I believe the Beulah ones are already producing stones and the jars arent fully colonized yet. I can get some pictures when I'm home later.
The dry stones definitely leave a residue/collect a bit in parts of the blades. I bought the grinder to only use for psychs to avoid having to clean it every time.
Capsules are the way to go! Easy to load up while watching TV/movies.

Do you always fruit them in that hc chamber?
Usually about 1/4" casing. And i usually fruit them on shelves with a plastic bag, but figured id see how they do in jcms pan fc

Whats really weird is my crazy prolific tamp iso was isolated off a stone clone

I'm out of ideas how to get spores from ATL#7 - mushrooms grow normally, then caps open and then either dry out (<95% humidity) or turn black and mushy (>95% humidity). No spores are dropped on any stage of life. Any tips?

Well I figure that stones are just a life raft of sorts for a mycelium colony, intended to densely pack nutes and tissue so that they can be preserved if the environment turns hostile for a time and re-supply the network once conditions improve-- so really there's no reason that a given isolate can't be both great stoners AND great fruiters-- you got a great combo there-- very special.

lol yeah I hear you.
Right now I’m just happy when I see some caps that aren’t all crimped up. I think tons of fresh air is the key, I gave my last Tamps an insane amount of light and it didn’t seem to do much.
Pans fc is gonna be the way to go. Especially judging by c10s caps.
I’ve got pans just cased and tamps almost at 100 so I’ll be giving it a shot soon.

The standard commercial dose in Amsterdam is 15-20g fresh wet weight. So yeah, I can see 2g being microdose territory.

Super stoked, got ATL7 spores in the mail yesterday and I'll stick them on some agar tonight-- anything in particular that's different between the mycelium and agar growth of stone producing species and cubes?
