When growing mushrooms from spores, can you grow them only in agar? And if you can, should you, or is it better to grow them in pf tek.

You should practice agar, and make grain jars. I personally thinking grain jars to shoeboxes is pretty easy going.

You could but it wouldn’t be very productive. Plates will pin eventually anyway so it’s possible.
Pf tek is popular for beginning grows still but ime its much easier to do wbs into a coir shoebox. It’s pretty tough to screw shoeboxes up.

Okay, sounds great. What is 'wbs'? I'll look into the coir shoeboxes, seems like a prolific route.

Grain jars are jars of grain that you place mycelium-colonized agar wedges onto to propagate and then spawn into a substrate (frequently coir).
WBS is Wild Birdseed. Lots of cultivators use it, but alternately you can use oats or rye which are also popular.

1. agar is use for mycelium growth. which is later transfer to either grain or made in to liquid culture.
2. spore can germinate on agar but after full growth of mycelium you need to decide which tek to go with.
3. agar is not a right medium to grow mushrooms in bulk. but its a right medium to grow mycelium in bulk.
4. spore or liquid culture both can be use to grow on pf tek, grain tek. etc
5. pftek is the most easy way to grow.

The glossary is super helpful in parsing out the lingo on the site:

This flow chart will also give you some ideas:

Shoeboxes and monotubs seem to be the popular cult method nowadays.

You’ve got much reading to do my friend.
There’s a lot to take in, it can be overwhelming but just keep chipping away.

There are some members, who have put up teks for everything going from spores to harvest. Maybe check out one of them and read everything, before you start growing.
You can start here: Bods TEK List

Sorry but that's how weird your posts sounds. You gotta do some more research first to even make a coherent post with questions that make sense.

Haha sorry, I'll work on it. Agar seemed weird to grow a lot of mushrooms in, and i was wondering if there were better methods.

Oh, my bad. Will everyone get a notification if I just reply once, or how will they know I responded?
Edit: Also I was trying to raise my post score to get access to the marketplace, but as a newb i can only ask but so many questions.. and I have nothing to post about.
