Substrate, FAE for Pan subbs

Hi, question about a Pan species that everyone knows and few people try to grow--the lowly Pan subb.
I have been watching this mushroom in the wild for quite a few years now, and wondered if I could create the conditions under which it would grow.
For substrate, I used a Verm, dried cow patty, water and BRF mix in a ratio of about 5:3:2.5:1. I inoculated jars and then crumbled it in trays and cased it with a mix of verm and peat to a depth of about 1/4 inch.
So there is something wrong with the substrate or moisture or FAE and I can't figure out which.
Here is the fruit chamber which is only 16 quarts. Perlite in the bottom. The bit on my drill was probably too big--holes are about 6 mm. Open on all sides.

And here is the miserable result.

I am misting a couple times a day, and open the lid many times a day to check on these babes.
So what am I doing wrong--goddammit!! Why do they pin in great numbers but not get much larger than an inch tall?

Ime with pans getting pins is easy but getting good mature fruits is a little tricky.
You can’t mist the pins or they’ll die, but they’re fine being soaked by a mister. I had to get a fogger and a fan and set them on timers to keep things wet but with lots of air and evaporation.
Definitely check out the official cope/pan thread and asuras or Jakeoncids threads on pans.

Thank you for the replies!
I will go through the threads again and turn the lid upside down. Am I right to think that the problem does not likely have anything to do with substrate composition?

The temperature has been about 25 C, lower at night.
IME, they start fruiting outside at exactly 25C.

Since they pinned I’m assuming it’s not the sub.
If you don’t have a fogger most people end up hand watering with a syringe. I’d either drill more holes or keep the lid crooked, something to increase air.
I’d clone that tall one in the back right.

You should try to keep it above 25C with Pans at all time
Also.. you got fruit that you can clone. I would be happy

Well praise be to God. We got some improvement.
Here is my improvised set-up.

That is a mister on top of the books.
I know that I still have a problem with air and moisture, but things improved somewhat.

I am pretty happy to get this far. I can't find a single photo of this mushroom being cultivated on the net. And in the past I tried to get colonized wheat to catch in a spawn bag of sterilized poo straw and verm. Multiple failures.
I have two questions. Is it just pans that are so picky about FAE? I would like to try Cyclocybe aegerita (poplar mushroom) again. I managed to colonize a spawn bag from a print but could not get any pins or fruits beyond that. Perhaps same problem, I wonder.
And also wondering why you guys said to clone that mushroom. Because it showed up first?

Nice, I bet if you popped some little holes in the side of the tub it’d be perfect.
Yeah normally you want to clone the first healthy shroom, especially if it’s something picky because it had the genetics to fruit in your conditions.
