Just yeah, again, pesticide-free doesn't give a flying fuck here about human health, it's for Jesus and the environmental life -- sustainability, ecological friendliness, and other made-up nonsens.

Im not sure what to make of this. Hopefully sarcasm? Idk. You are right though. The health of the consumer isn't even generally acknowledged as being affected. Id argue otherwise, with differing nutrient densities but that can be corrected for.
It's about the health of the entire world. We've been exploiting the earth, drawing from its endless resources since we left Africa. The green revolution ushered us into a post famine era. But then we realized we're wrong. The resources aren't endless. The green revolution helped us to produce more food, but all of those methods are in fact short sighted and do more harm than good. Organic/ pesticide free/ natural farming isn't about your food, it's about acknowledging the earth that supports us, and having the foresight to help support it, rather than exploiting it. It's a concept completely foreign to us, because we've never been in this position. We've never had this choice in front of us.
We can feast, and our grandchildren can feast... then everybody dies. Or we can get our shit together and not destroy the world for cheap food. Most of us choose the former. But some of us have witnessed the horror that is 21st century agriculture. It destroys everything. The land, the farmer, the consumer. Why poison the land to make ourselves fat and unhealthy? So the farmer, arguably the most important profession, can live in poverty?
