So far in all the 5 qt of Jalisco I’ve got no stone in most and very small ones in others but just like atl if there were no stones in the jar by 100% after spawning they and by the end of the spawn run there were already stones peaking out of the sub

Got myself an ATL syringe. Been having a horrible time this summer getting clean plates. Knowing my current skill level makes a successful fruiting attempt unlikely I wanted to make every drop of solution count. Made a small BRF pick in a jelly jar with a SHIP and used 1 drop. It's only half colonized and already making stones. Can't wait to birth it to quarts of grain.

I seen some people have good success fruiting right off brf like riverbum with the Jalisco. I don’t know how easy doing brf to grain transfers is gonna be. Messy and risky I imagine. You won’t be able to break up the brf cake in the jar. How many brf2g transfers are you thinking about doing. And did you choose brf for a reason or just all that was availible.

I've done it before. I flame the shit out of my scalple and cut it in half and put a chunk in each quart. It's not optimal by any means. I've just been having some serious contamination issues this summer pouring plates. Needed a little project to hold me over until my HEPA arrives. Sitting on so many prints and syringes I want to get onto agar. It's been very frustrating after having really good beginners luck all winter.

Ive seen people birth the cakes then put them in a ziplock and smash them to powder and g2g that.

lol the ultimate for inoculation points.

I dropped a sketchy t1 of Jalisco two days ago but it’s barely moved.

That's not the worst idea. Leap off from a solid hunk of BRF does take a bit. These pucks are only a few TBSP. Did this with APE and it took forever from syringe to spawn but I just keep busy doing different stuff. As long as it goes into the jars without incident I should have my first stones mid fall. Once I harvest I'll be asking alot of questions about fruiting strategy. I'd love to have prints to share.

You could get stones way faster than that if you wanted.

I spawned my jar right at 100% and there were absolutely no stones in it. About three weeks later I harvested it and got around 140g fresh stones.

The question is whether or not waiting months to harvest a jar makes the potency go up enough to be worth doing.

We'll... I'll have 2 quarts. Sounds like a good experiment to me. Think I'll make a fresh no pour when the puck is ready and take some of the whispy ass aerial mycelium and plate it too.

Thats what i usually do too, spawn @ 100%
Then harvest stones after a few flushes

I'll have to reread the thread and prepare for a fruiting attempt. I've only grown cubes.

I’ve found the best fruiting cultures I’ve had with all mexicanas are all isolates or close enough to it anyway. I’ll take it from spore to about three or four but I also almost take biopsy sized transfers. For some reason they seem to take off quicker. The Jalisco culture I’m messing with is from LC to 100% in 10 or less.

Did this quart on the 5th I think it was full by day 9 and I’ve been letting it sit for the last three days to consolidate and I’m about to spawn now.

Super wispy

What are the necessary conditions with these? Similar to cubes?

I take the same mix I use for pans and half it and then half the same thing I use for mexicana casing coir/sand so half and half. Then case with the sand /coir with a super thin layer and another super thin layer of peat/Verm which is what I case the pans with. Did I confuse u yet. Just wait for the results.
