Question about 2nd flush moisture content

On my 2nd flush of this B+ Shoebox— was wondering what the best MO is for maintaining proper moisture and surface conditions is. I soaked for 5 hours after the first flush but have noticed the top layer hasn’t been maintaining the beaded moisture like it did during the first. Should I be misting to keep moisture beads on top or should I just leave it be because it has enough water from the soak? I am not using the standard sterlite shoeboxes because I live in Europe and I’ve had to crack the lid a bit to give them enough FAE—don’t want to dry things out though.

You could do the ShaperDreaming tek next time.
Stay under field capacity with coir, and make a 1" top layer and heavy mist it.
If the surface looks dry, mist it.
But i`d say it`s good saturated.

It looks good I’d just keep doing what you’re doing.
I very rarely have good looking myc after the first flush. It’s like it has to be a specific type of growth to still hold water beads in my conditions.

I also just harvested my first flush from a few shoeboxes (using shapers shoebox tek). I only soaked for 3 hours but like you said the surface didn't bead up. I think it is kinda like A.K.A. said, it prolly needs to be the fluffy myc to glisten like it originally does. I'm sure the myc being matted down during the soak hinders that glistening look. I just put the lids back on mine and left them to do what they will.

Yeah that is exactly the tek I used. It was completely 0 maintenance through the 1st flush. According to her tek she just soaks it, latches it, and leaves it be. As I said though, I use different boxes that don’t have as great natural airflow and it wasn’t clear if I was supposed to still be seeing those beads of moisture. I have misted it a couple times since the soak but I think I will ease off the next couple days and see how they do. So far it looks to be a decent second flush at least on par with the first—mushies look a lot fatter this time around—had a bunch of skinny little guys the first flush.

Ok that makes total sense. Feeling the substrate, it still feels plenty damp to me. I’ll just let ‘er do its thing 😊

Yeah, same to me. Just got a 2nd flush double sized to first. But it's just an ms grow, i get a weak first all the time.

Yeah same for me- on my first grow my first flush was nothing but horribly deformed mutants 😬 2nd flush looked relatively normal. Pretty sure that was a bacterial issue though—left them alone over xmas break and came back to find a window had blown open. All the cold air blowing on them had caused a huge pool of water to condense on the bottom of each tub. This grow has gone much better. Pulled another 150g wet off of second flush, same yield as the first:
