Pinky Oyster mycelium looks strange
    #26827302 - 07/16/20 04:06 PM (3 years, 6 months ago)

Hi,

after I had some trouble with my first pink oysters (not enough FAE during fruiting, there is a different threat about that..) I cloned one of the tiny mushrooms that I got on agar. Some days ago I transferred from agar to multiple grain jars. Most of them look actually like this:

But one also looks like this (looks way healthier, even though the grains are kinda squeezed in):

I think the difference in color and fluffiness is obvious.

Does the mycelium in the first image look normal?

I think its fully colonized and I would love to transfer to wood substrate. But I don't want to transfer if this is actually mold or some shit

Thanks for the help!

The first one looks green-ish, but I imagine that's just the photo or my screen.  I think they're both fine.  Unless it actually is greenish?

Thanks for your answer! Yesterday I transferred to sawdust and everything looks great now. The freshly growing mycel looks perfectly white and is showing good growth rate. Actually, I think that the first jar got to dry for some reason... Maybe my polyfill filter was not tight enough and too much water evaporated over time..

That can definitely happen.  That mycelium is very thick and white for pink oyster!  Hopefully it goes well
