Hello everyone. Second time hunting here who need some some help on ID. I have first checked what kind of mushroom grew in my area using this guide found on shroomery. Then went to the type of location which the mushroom grew and found one type which fitted the description.
I was looking for Gymnopilus Aeruginosus. The following mushrooms were found and picked in a small forest with birch trees and the mushrooms were grown on a dead fallen birch tree located in central Asia today on July 16th.
And this was the description of the said mushroom from the book

Species #1:

Not Gymnopilus, you have a species of Lentinus, maybe Lentinus Tigris or a similar species of Lentinus.

You didnt pick the wrong season bud, gyms pretty much grow all year round in some places. I would look more towards wood chip beds or property that has been cleared/forested. I still see gyms pop up in a spot I know after heavy rains so I'd keep that in mind too.

I've only seen Gymnopilus after long rains, getting out and looking is the only way to find them unless you grow your own and then I would choose a Psilocybe over Gymnopilus any day.

What area you located? You are best off hunting pans in the summer most gyms and psilocybe sp dont do well this time of year. Spring for psilocybes and fall for gyms. They can be found out of season but its less common

Sadly there were only 30 species recorded and no Psilocybe in the book cause its illigel here I wonderif it grows naturally here. The location is Mon//go//li//a not sure if this helps to prevent from search engine lol.

You're in Mongolia, that's cool. you can give names of cities or towns, just no exact locations. welcome to the shroomery.

Hello, if you're looking for gymnopilus aeruginosus in mongolia, try "Mongonmorit, Tov" mountains. I'm about to hunt there.
