Okay I poured salt all over the spot that looked bluish green.

That came on quick!  Mono was fine for 16 days then today on the 17th that spot looked kinda blue and a few hours later it had white spots in the middle of it.  Put a paper towel on it and it came up a little, so I’m guessing trich?

So once everything is harvested, guessing everything should be tossed?  Container and all?  Or is there hope it wasn’t trich and see if another flush comes?

Sorry if this is a noob/stupid question.

So, all of the information I’ve been looking up on green and trich and all that fun stuff people are always like, “Get it out of your house!  Now!”

Is it dangerous to you?  Or do they just say that because it can contaminate the room for future grows?

Very bummed right now.  Was hoping to see more then one flush after 6 weeks of waiting.  It just came out of nowhere too.  I mean, I’m wondering if there is still a slight chance it wasn’t trich but I feel like it is.

Some fruits have blue around the base, is that normal or is that trich getting into it?  All paranoid now too 😕

Yeah it's trich  It happens to everyone from time to time.

Some people really freak out on having a moldy tub inside but if I'm in the middle of a flush I just let it roll and dont mist it, I also take it out of any stack and sit it off to the side. I think if you let mold grow unchecked too often or let something get really bad and you get the spores everywhere it can raise the chances of getting that contaminant again but there's no need to go nuclear with a slightly moldy tub. Just my opinion on it.

The tub is fine after a wash and the sub itself you can try to keep it for a while, like if that salt slows the trich down and it doesn't grow out fast maybe just pour a cup of water in there and let it sit somewhere to see what it does. Or put it in a shady spot outside and try to keep it moist.

If those spots just grow rapidly though you probably wont have much luck.

The mushrooms should be fine. Usually the ones closest to the spots will start to turn greenish blue at the base and start to get thin at the top and turn downwards, those I toss. The blue you seeing might be stress from mold coming up nearby or just bruising for some other reason.

Thanks so much for the information.  This is all still new to me.  At least this first flush looks good.  Might try and do agar next with one of the bigger ones.  Have some plates I got from a reputable place.  Can’t seem to find a big pressure cooker (canner) anywhere right now so buying all this stuff is what has to be done for now.  Lol

Also, when you say a “shady” spot you mean discreet, right?  Not literally the shade?  There’s one spot outside It can probably go but the issue is it gets like 95 degrees outside during this time of year.  That probably isn’t ideal I’m assuming?

No literally shady lol, but I like your thought process. To keep the sub and pins moist and a humid little area above the surface. 95 is pretty hot so I dont know. I've grown outdoors in the summer and it was in the 90's during the day but humid AF.

I was making little rectangular pits a couple inches deep and spawning to bulk inside so it was a little different than a used sub outside. I did put a few trich subs in the treeline and put leaves up around them and got a couple fruits but it wasn't much.

Just wait and see what happens a day or two after harvesting those.

Definitely get one or two of these cloned on agar. That's the way. And keep checking and waiting to find a presto 23qt lol. They are great for the price but in demand right now.

Yeah, that’s the exact one I’ve been looking for and it’s nowhere to be found.  None are.  lol.  It’s crazy.

Totally covered the areas in salt and picked about 200 grams worth that the veil dropped on.  But the rest are still going so will see what they look like later tonight or tomorrow.  Will post some more pictures then.

Thanks for all the advice.  Helps a lot!

Put the ones that were picked in a paper bag and in the fridge until the rest are harvested and ready for dehydrator.  Hopefully they don’t lose potency or whatever.

So last night picked about 300 grams wet and this morning had this

All except the biggest two have been picked.  Gonna make a SAB and clone those two later.  Just received the agar plates that were ordered.

Thanks!  😀

The two biggest left until morning and they unloaded their spores with a vengeance.  Lol.  Gonna clone those later on agar.

So, after harvest and removing the salt patches covering the possible contam issue the substrate looks normal.  Wondering if there’s hope.  🤔

Kinda hard to tell from the picture but basically it looks normal.  Not really white anymore cause Totally aggressively picked off the mushrooms thinking it was the only flush that was gonna happen so didn’t take too much care in that.

But the dark spots are just spores and the spots that look kinda blue/green are just bruising.  But the spot that had the blue/green color originally that was thought to be trich is gone.  At least visibly.  I realize the spores are microscopic.

So not sure how to proceed here.  Outside isn’t really an option cause it’s sooo hot out.

Should the top still look white after harvest?  Because it doesn’t.  Looks like the next layer of substrate which is not white.  And there is also a lot of left over salt all over the top which I’m sure isn’t good.  Couldn’t get it all up.  But even if there is no hope the first flush was intense.

No I always loose the top layer of myc during the harvest, especially if it's a dense pin set. The 2nd flush still comes in though.

I'm sure the trich spots will be back but personally I'd let it ride and see what you can get. Maybe float the sub for a couple hours and then start misting the surface again the next day.

You have a liner so I guess just mist it instead of floating. I'd still try not to mist those areas though where the trich was.

Largest fruit wet was 57 grams!  Had to break it to clone though.  Should have gotten a picture first.
Did two Petri dishes.  Have three left for transfers.  Gotta get some more.
