First attempt @ straw bulkgrow failed horribly
    #2682422 - 05/15/04 01:19 PM (19 years, 10 months ago)

Its been about 2 1/2 weeks since ive tried started the fan/light cycle to induce pinning on my straw bulk. Been fanning 3x daily, and misting, but still no pins. Its even down in the basement where the average temp is the high 60's, but still no pins. The verm layer on top is starting to blow away as i fan, and there is only a tiny bit of myc peeking out through the top of the casing layer. Its been like that the whole time w/ no signs of improvements.

Should I consider this a lost project and pitch it? ~i dont see any types of contams on the top layer, perhaps there are some in the middle?

If your casing is blowing away there is not enough moisture in it. Bring your temps to about 75 and see how it goes.

you need more moisture. casing layer shouldn't blow away..

you should consider bringing up the temps(75 to 850 for a few days and then lowering them to 60 again.

Alright will bring it back upstairs where its warm. To bring up mosture levels do you recommend I spray the casing directly lightly, or the walls...or both?
