Rehydrate month old PC'd (non inoculated) Grain Jars?

Hello my fellow colleagues,
I PC'd a few WBS jars a month ago. Unfortunately, I did not get the time to noc them up with some agar that has been waiting for this. On top of that they seem to be a bit dry now, and I've read that dry grains lead to very slow colonization. What do you propose?

Just make li or lc. Injecting with sterile water means opening the jar twice
Or make new jars wbs is cheap

Yeah, I did Munch's blenderless LI tek on some old dried out jars the other day, and they exploded and were ready to spawn in under two weeks. I'd do that again in a heartbeat with old sterile grain.

I'd start over. Why wait another 2 weeks for LC to be ready to test and use when you can just make new jars tonight and drop wedges tomorrow? How many jars is it?
If it's like 20 jars then that blows but if it's only a couple then dump em somewhere or give em to tbe birds

I’d also try blenderless LI if you have plenty enough plates around 3/4 grown at least. I wouldn’t waste time trying to do sterile water then a wedge drop or something. LI is awesome and gets me spawn in 10 days usually

Id rather start over than mess with LI or LC at my current experience level. I feel like I got a good handle on agar now. Plates look good, jars look good, boxes look good. But I have very few grows under my belt, and consequently very little mushrooms. I dont feel like ruining the few grows I do by risking it. Once I have enough mushrooms and don't care what happens I'll definitely feel comfortable learning new teks and experimenting around

Buuut I did prepare a couple plates with veeeery soft agar. Im pretty sure it will become liquid when I shake it. Would that matter?

Ya. Soft agar inoculate. It actually works well.
If you are just gonna dump those jars why not trya soft agar culture? Maybe you'll grow shrooms dawg

Totally get not wanting to jump to LI, but, if you haven't yet, just take a look at how easy this would be. It'd work especially well with that soft agar

I'd never done it before, found myself in exactly your situation, and it worked really well. Just a thought, and best of luck whatever you decide!

Just wanted to update the thread by saying it worked quite nicely! I used less agar than ever before to get more grain jars. Some jars were slower than others but I think its only because of how much myc particles I got in there.
