Good day. It has come to my attention that some self-proclaimed ethnobotanical growers and users are working just to make money.
Well, if you can't tell us what's immediately wrong with that, we're already overdue for this discussion, regardless of past threads that may have tried to address it.
Don''t live for money!
Instead of going on and on out of my own understanding, here are a list of Scripture quotes to say what I would only stretch into 15 paragraphs:
"You cannot serve both God and money." -- Jesus Christ (Matthew 6)
"Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for God has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”" -- Hebrews 13:5
"For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evils. It is through this appetite that some have strayed away from faith and damaged themselves with many pangs." -- 1 Timothy 6:10
"One who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor one who loves wealth with one's income; this also is vanity." -- Ecclesiastes 5:10
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." -- Jesus Christ (Matthew 6)
Any questions? Comments? Suggestions? All input is appreciated.

I think you should not serve anyone. even god.
but in time we are living you just cannot live without money.you do sell your time at job for shit rate per hour to buy something to eat. but it is how this system works. it just it is what it is. we created this environment for ourselves. you have to study half of your life and then work other half to live.
I hate money truly do. but I love my beer and love to go to restaurant and be served by other person. and don't mind to pay for it with money I did received for doing my job I love. some wise man said if you love what you are doing you will never work. and it's true.

That was so asinine, I can't even blink.

So, I don't do anything in this field for personal gain. I have other projects that support me.
That being said, an argument mostly based on scripture doesn't seem helpful because it's so personal and speculative. If you give your own personal experience at the very least it will probably appeal a little bit more to those of us who aren't very religious.
Otherwise it's too easy to look at all that, shrug, and move on. It's too easy to quote singular verses to back yourself up out of context.
Just an observation, you do you man.

By your words, you still chase money.

Why do you grow mushrooms or weed? For money?
Is monetary gain on your mind when you grow stuff?
These are the issues.
It's precisely this "well I just wanted to make a quick buck while I'm at it" that leads to Monsanto-type thinking, sister.
Freely you have received; freely give.
Each should give according to what she had decided in her heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

People want things, if you provide those things at risk of your freedom for a price then that's a deal.
God, scripture and sacrament and all that stuff is just associated beliefs that people like to label stuff with. But it's just sky people talk. Really real is that people trade money for goods and services. That's what happens. People buy beef, in some religions that's forbidden, people buy alcohol, in some religions that's forbidden... the hypocrisy of people who buy things like this but then think things of people who sell weed, cactus or shrooms because of religious reasons is not lost on me.

I have not received freely. Not in this hobby (aside from information) and not anywhere else. There is no such thing as a free lunch.
That said, I don't plan on selling my fruits. But that is for personal reasons, and your arguments are rather weak.
