Any ideas of what kind of material I could use for flexible rods that are bundled togther as flexible, load bearing boom arm?

I'm thinking something like fiberglass or graphite fishing rods, or tent rods, or even some exercise equipment uses more robust flexible rods or blades (a leaf spring like arraignment may work). Are there any plastics that might fit the bill?
Any sources you guys know of?
EDIT - It would need to support 100-300 lbs at 4-8 ft length.

That's a lot of weight for something that long.
Most boom arms for things like lights and mics only hold a few pounds.
edit: also, 100 pounds at the end of an 8 foot pole is going to be an enormous amount of torque on whatever is holding it.

You are correct, but as they make singular rods that approximate the resistance of a 50lbs+ weight, I think if they are bundled it should be possible. Even if the midway point needs hanging, flexible support that would be fine. I should have said earlier that rigidity is the opposite of what is intended, but this meant provide flexibility in movement so that a larger area is accessible without repositioning.

Oh, and while the 8' would be ideal, I did actually expect that would be too much for modern engineering. The further away from 4' I could get, the better.
