I haven’t been more than 30 miles from my house in the past six months 🤷♂️
I was out in the country last week

So you are going to keep dodging the question? Beautiful photos btw

There should be a hole somewhere in your radiator that, that temperature sensor prong should fit into, make sure you find that and stick it back in there or where ever it goes, I guarantee that thing shouldn't be out dangling like that.

Fuck. It was dangling when I popped the plate off in the first place. The unit is a hand me down. Damn things keep getting more complicated. Seriously thank you for the advice given.

It probably got snagged on something and pulled out when you popped it off, the hole should be obvious, it should look like an exact fit for it to fit into and just slide it in.

I'm about to pop the plate back off even though I need to wake up early for an arbitrary doc appointment. If you are right I'll give 5 shrooms.
We are both perhaps destrackting from the fact that koods should reveal the TRUTH. Pretending he doesnt post supposedly personal photos from several different US cities like all the time.

That sensor seems to have no place. The default position seems to be right in front of the filter. It's an older model with no digital readout or temp control outside of 1-10 or fan speed though

I mean its possible that its there to sense the temperature of the cold air blowing out but that doesn't make sense to me, any time I have ever seen a sensor like that it was going directly through a metal radiator. Its normally a thermostat controller or a fan controller.
I was going to pop my front cover off on one of my many AC units left behind by people I have rented too but the front cover wouldn't come off it appeared I had to remove the whole exterior cover to access it of which I was not in the mood to do. If you can not get it fixed by this weekend I will disassemble mine and point out exactly what you should be looking for and help you trouble shoot it.

I don’t think that’s a sensor. That’s the tube they use to load the system with coolant and it probably acts as a reservoir to help maintain a proper pressure.

The narrow section in between two wider sections implies its not part of the coolant coil system, if it is he would be able to see it connect directly to the pipes themselves just past our view.
The narrow section in between is a pretty good indicator that it is a sensor though.

I have no idea why all my renters have AC's and then leave them, its fucking a cold climate here its hot like 1 month a year and I just open my window and blow a fan.
We have freak years every 10 years where its blistering hot so I got a shit ton of AC's for when it happens again. lol

I REALLY appreciate what you are trying to do but.. that would mean I need to fold that thing back where it comes from???? Like I'm making a u turn with it? Because it comes from that right side

Don't fold anything I don't want you to break anything ugh I will just take apart my small window AC right now and see if mine is similar to yours, its finally gotten my curiosity just what is under the cover of mine.
