What is wrong with my dishes?
    #26824224 - 07/15/20 12:47 AM (3 years, 6 months ago)

Yeast? All of my amazons and ecuadors got this powdery shit going on.

Cobweb

Whatze fuck

Dish transfered from and new dishes got powdery growth

My hawaiians are the only ones showing consistent healthy myc

I have 14 out of 36 jars I used a MS SYRINGE with showing growth so im not too worried. I am going to use some prints and noc up some dishes tomorrow. I did 6 gulf coast dishes with a print and already have growth after 4 days.

Powdery contams are usually either penicillium sp or aspergillius sp. There are others. I can't get a 'read' on which it may be from the pics you posted. Even the common contams are sometimes hard to identify until they start to sporulate. Most all contams of the fungal variety grow as a white happy family but can't be identified until they make spores - the color of which makes for EZ identification. Improving your inoc. conditions will get you very far. Keep rockin' it...

Fuck syringes. Cant wait to use prints tomorrow. I'll let these grow out in the meantime. At least my hawaiian plates are good.

I feel your pain. Contams are sumpin' every grower runs into. It may be syringes, it may be something else. Backtrack and see where you may have let the little effer's  ruin your day. It's OK to be  , but never :whiteflag:. You can do this!

I really dont like the look of this, if those spots arent water droplets (why did you take pics in the darkest mannner possible?) then that might be the little crop circles that mites make. Look at them carefully with a magnifying glass. If it looks like something was eating out a pasture there, then :onfire:immolate:onfire: that dish.

As soon as you see some clean germination you want to transfer it to another plate as soon as possible. As soon as I see that germination, I let it grow out just long enough to see that it's not sitting right on top of/next to mold or bacteria, and I transfer to a new plate.

It was some dots on the lid that created those circles. Not mites. And okay.. Should I toss everything except the hawaiian? How do any of those amazon plates look with powdery growth?

Powdery is never good. Honestly I don't know how I feel about that Hawaiian either, if it was my plate, I wouldn't use it

I suggest you just inoculate a new plate of each variety. Just a single drop on the center of the plate.
Take a transfer as soon as you can identify clean germination.
Also I suggest taking smaller transfers, like the size of a grain of rice or so. Transfer from the leading edge of the myc, never the inside of the culture of you can avoid it.

Probably not good for cubes lol.

Im convinced the guy i ordered from is just giving people edible mushroom spores and labeling them as cubes or shitty geneticz

And the hawaiians are the only ones showing actual mycelium. That transfer chunk moved from where it was and got stuck in another location, its super white mycleium...

Unless of course this fuck head on reddit is really selling edibles and not medicinal.

I ordered from --- and --- and i feel like I got duped and have been wasting months time. Not a single syringe from spore depot worked.. And this guys give me shit mycelium...

I got prints from people here and they work fine. I may have just gotten screwed. But if that was true then why are my jars doing good? I clean the fuck out of everything. So fucking frustrating...

And then I feel like i finally have myc and people say they wouldn't use it. Maybe im not meant to grow mushrooms..

Edit vendor names out of your post man, not allowed

It sounds like the syringes you got from this guy are just heavily contaminated.

You're on the right track. Start over with fresh plates + ditch those syringes, inoculate the plates with something else.

"But if that was true then why are my jars doing good?"

Contamination can hide very well inside grain jars. Molds like Trich start out white. You often wont see green until right before or during the first flush, when it sporulates.
Not saying this is the case at all, just noting that spawn can look clean when it's not.
It's why we work so hard to get clean cultures on agar to inoculate with
