Large lesion on abnormal PE cap. Any ideas? * 1
    #26821824 - 07/13/20 08:38 PM (3 years, 7 months ago)

Hello friends,

I have PE on BRF cakes and aside from the strange growth, I was wondering if someone could identify this lesion on the cap of this mushroom?

Thanks,
Wong

Actually it looks like a normal PE blob doing PE things.

I’m no expert, but it looks like that thing was all cap and reality just couldn’t take it anymore. Ripped a hole right through. I’d consider cloning it. I’m definitely not the person to ask ally contaminations, though.  I’d ask people who do this stuff. Might have sweet genetics, though!

Thanks for all the input! I’ll get a spore print if it will ever open up. It’s been a blob for about a week. Either way, it’ll get dealt with

PE doesn’t drop spores so you won’t get a print. Could make a swab but a print is very unlikely. Blobs are sterile 99% of the time.

*Update* that blob stayed a blob and the lesion filled up with blue so I just picked it. No gills. I didn't get any swabs from it because I figured it probably wasn't that crazy. Thank you Pastywhyte for your information. I did not know that!
