Rye to Straw Substrate - Need TEK Advise

Hi guys I'm recently getting into growing mushrooms with bulk substrate after getting a good understanding of pf teks the last couple years. I have several jars colonizing with Rye & WBS and I want to make a good substrate to spawn these into once colonized.
I've heard good things about using straw as a substrate, but I'm not sure what sort of mix I should use. I see lots of teks with hpoo/coir/verm but not much when it comes to straw. Does anyone have experience with straw? What are the advantages/dis? These are the other ingredients I have available to work with: coir, vermiculite, gypsum, & coffee.
Could anyone tell me a good, healthy sub mix/tek I could make with my straw and these other ingredients?? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Dude, I would totally go for the Coir/verm/gyp. I've had nothing but awesome results with it. Bods tek in the getting started board is really simple, is quite contam resistant and just produces. Also, as long as they are pasteurized properly, you can add nutrient boosters such as poo, coffee or many others to juice up your substrate, as CVG has nearly no nutrients to speak of. Which is why it doesn't contam easily. Just know that adding nutrients will increase contam risk but can increase yield and some say even potency, not sure but it makes sense. I've only used straw to grow oysters with mixed results, and can tell you it is a lot more work and less productive than coir in my experience.

100% coir. You can add verm to it if you wish, but it's not required at all.
There's just little reason to use anything else when coir is so perfect for cubes. Straw can be used, but you need to at least pasteurize it, and since coir is already very bacteria resistant, it's just not needed.
Just follow the popular teks and don't over think it. You can do shoeboxes with each type sub material if you want-- see for yourself what works best for you... but for simplicity and consistently great results with cubes, coir wins hands-down every time.
