Drs don't give out end of life meds for inconvenient world events.

Cheer up and try not watching/listening to so much media.

My life path is not to take my own life, but I'd rather hold a hand grenade to the side of my head and scream to God my eternal gratitude, than to take some peaceful pill and snuff out like a smothered candle.

God will probably set me up for something surprising like this:

I don't believe in any "next time". Like an afterlife reunited with loved ones, it's just wishful thinking. But...

Not that I necessarily believe in this, but when I contemplated death by hanging, it dawned on me that if there were a set time for you to die, the fabled three score and ten say, and you cheat it by ten years by ending it early. Your own personal experience of time, afterall isn't it true that time goes fast when your having fun? wouldn't the opposite hold, and you can't get much worse, or slow time down to a standstill, the moment you kick the chair away. Time slows down, or your thoughts speed up, to the point where you experience those ten years as regret that you kicked that chair, and you'll be serving those ten years swinging from the end of a rope.

I found the thought chilling.

Possibly not "when you have medical issues".

I don't know if it's the whole world. The United States right now is pretty fucked, but there are some places on this planet that adjusted to the pandemic pretty well. The US was riddled with serious problems before the pandemic hit, and I think the pandemic just underlined all of those problems. It's a rough time to live in the US - not just for you, but for lots of people.

Quote:

Mandarinfish said:
How long before we get into a full scale depression with mass starvations, etc.?

Maybe things won't reach that point. We won't know until we get there. I'm not a blind optimist or anything - I'm not saying that things won't get to that point. However, I am saying that pessimism can be just as blinding as optimism. Things are tough right now in the US, but we aren't dealing with famine right now - focusing on the present is important, and in the present there are still things we can do to make a difference.

Mandarinfish said:
It sucks more when you have nobody to talk to anymmore and the people around you don't care.

That does suck, but there's still something you can do about that. If you're legitimately surrounded by people who don't give a fuck about whether you live or die, then you are surrounded by toxic people. You have the autonomy to surround yourself with different people. You're not powerless over them. You're not stuck with the social sphere you currently find yourself in - even your family can be abandoned if they're causing you nothing but problems (and I'm sorry if they are). There are ways to meet new people - even during a pandemic. Making friends isn't easy, but it's worth the effort, and friends care about you.

Mandarinfish said:
Anyone know of anyone who asked their Doctor for "End of Life medication" to stop this stupidity?

No, I don't, and I think if you asked your doctor for that, they would have a responsibility to ask how serious you were about committing suicide. If you are seriously considering suicide, I encourage you to reach out about it to someone who can help. There are people who care about whether you live or die, and there are professionals that can help you without you needing to pay a dime. I sincerely hope you don't quit life - there are still things you can do to make a difference in your own life.

Quote:

Mandarinfish said:

Maybe not. Maybe there isn't a next time. None of us know what happens after death, which is a part of what makes life so significant. Death gives meaning to life. Part of the reason I get out of bed every morning is because this might be the only chance I have to actually do things, to experience things, and to exist as a human being. The main reason I get out of bed every morning is because of the constant surprises. Every day brings new experiences - they're not all pleasant ones, but I wouldn't want them to be in the first place.

Hard times create contrast, and contrast is what gives life depth. "High" and "low" are meaningless concepts if we can't compare them to one another. If your life is filled with lows right now, that necessarily means that you also experience highs in some capacity.

All things eventually pass. Whatever depressed feelings you're going through right now are included - they will end eventually. The mind has a way of fighting off feelings of hopelessness, the same way the body has a way of fighting off a common cold.

I don't want to downplay anything you're going through, because I don't know you and I don't know the particular circumstances of your situation. All I'm trying to do is to encourage you to keep going, and to not give up on yourself. There's still time in your life, and you have the power to change things. The universe may have dealt you a shitty hand in some respects, but you are also a force of nature yourself.

I bet that a good life is probably the rarest thing in the universe so i should just try make this one work because im lucky enough to not have been born into slavery or in some psychopaths locked basement or trafficked and sold, or born into war and filth. When you look at statistics of how many billions have it worse than you, it reminds you of how rare your deal of cards is , even though it does suck 99% of the time, moast of the time. Maybe, if you had 2 weeks until you get thrown out by family who lied to you and have nowhere to go that you would understand.
Unless a person makes enough money today the quality of life isn't there. When you have medical issues that make it so you
can't work. You would know things get bleak when inflation gets too high. I can't get one Landlord to meet up with also.

Options are:

1. Homelessness
2. Jail
3. Peaceful death (with doctors help of course. I don't like pain.)
4. ?

Jail sucks when you know nothing or nobody will be available when you get out.

There's a 5 year wait list to get shelter help and I can't wait that long.

Maybe, a lottery win is my last hope. Then I could buy a friend and be happy. I'll buy tickets this week and hope for the best.

Is that all? This ain't shit. Hell has an endless bottom and you are freaking out at the first loss of comfort. Stop being a bitch.

I've spent a lot of time being homeless. If you don't have any fight left, then die. But since you made this post, I believe you have some fight left.

Currently I'm trying super hard to not take my own life, so I feel you. Just keep fighting brother. Life sometimes is really shitty. But there are some fun things in your future along with some not so fun stuff. Don't wanna miss out on some future smiles do ya?

Get through this. I hope I can too.

Homelessness has its benefits. I have some good memories of the times i was homeless. When you go from homlessness to  getting a home you trade in some stresses for others. I certainly dont live just stay comfortable anymore. There is a deeper and arguably more selfless drive that motivates me to get up and keep going. If you are content to be totally self centered though you can actually be pretty happy without a home, a family, or a job. For a while, anyway

If you do decide to end your life with chemicals- say for instance you have a terminal disease and palliative measures are no longer sufficient- i imagine the gases like nitrous oxide are the best way to go. Some might say the opioids but ODing on opioids can be scarier than you might imagine. You dont necessarily fall asleep on opioids alone, so you end up being conscious of the fact that you arent breathing, and occasionally gasping for breath and having these intermittent moments of terror

hmmm don't want to get banned.  Don't kill yourself, try reaching out to people you feel are "others" and see what they are going through.  I feel it will do you some good. Also, depression is a liar, but it comes from your own brain so it must be the truth! Right? Well, from a person who has lived with Major depression as well several anxiety disorders, I can tell you right now your brain is lying to you.  You need to discover some coping mechanisms to tell when it's lying and when it's not.  Good luck.
