Agar to lc

Ok so time and time again have I heard lc is inferior to agar because you can't tell if it's clean vs agar witch you can tell it's clean cause of it's 2 demential surface.so I'm looking for a way to cut down work time and have my bags colinize fast without worrying about contaminated lc.my question is can I take say one fully colinized Petri dish and transfer leading edges from all around dish and put lil peices in a bunch of lcs infront of flowhood wait for the lc to colinize then dump the lc into the bags I'm trying to get fully colinized bags in a week vs the g2gs I do witch take 2 weeks.and I'm insuring my lc is clean cause it was inoculated with small peice of clean agar.

Yes, its a broadly used technique I recommend josex poke The lc will take a while to get colonized before you can use it tho

Never worked with lc only agar my qt jars take around 14-21+ days depending on how many wedges go into each qt then my bags that got g2g take 14 days so all together before I put spawn to monotubs it's already a month not including how long it takes agar to fully colinize so I'm trying to save time but still get the same results

I’ve made 250ml lcs and used them at five days old a bunch of times.
Lc is awesome there’s nothing inferior about it. It’s one of my favorite things now but you need to be super clean.
Using lme I’ve so far always been able to tell when I had a bad lc because it clouded up. I’m sure there are some contams that would be invisible though.

When you say you have to be super clean like as clean as it takes to do successful g2g or agar to agar transfers I own a floodhood so it shouldn't be too hard. With the 250ml how many bags can u get from that.my ideas is to open lc infront of the flowhood then dump it into 4qt bags no I don't gotta worrie about dirting my lc from a needle

An it will also save me time cause if I can take one Petri dish and take leading edges of myc an expand one dish into 10 250ml lc then I stretched one dish to 10 bags.alot better that 1/4 dish to qt then wait till colinized then g2g to bag.then re wait again till it's fully colinized

I’m not sure but it’s enough to do 7-10 quarts.
If you can do plate transfers with no contams consistently then you’ll be fine. Lc is definitely the fastest route. I recently went from spores germinating to spawning a tub in 11 days. A lot of people of the needle poke for lc but I’ve always just dropped a tiny wedge.

yeah its fast as hell once you have the lc ready my experience is that you need to wait for a few weeks after dropping the wedge on the lc before using: for me it takes a bit longer than grain jars to see some nice growth... maybe ive been doing it wrong?
