How do you determine your last flush?

What are the criteria you use to determine your last flush? Do you just keep flushing and waiting to see if it fruits again (after the 3rd flush) or are you a person who starts over on a scheduled cycle?

I keep mine around until it’s not worth taking up the mono space.

Same. If you're going for efficiency it's not worth keeping tubs past second flush.

I’ve had gts on the 3rd flush that weighed 31g dry. Maybe a 1 off? Lol

For as long as it produces enough fruit for you to feel it worth your time to maintain it. Later flushes seem to require more attention but if you're fine with spending a few minutes a few times a day checking on it and space isn't an issue keep it going.

2-3 flushes, then start new batch.

Would most agree that the third flush is more of a gamble and not worth the time if you are seeking efficiency?

I mean it depends.
If you have no more room and have a bunch of healthy jars ready to go to take the place of that tub, then sure get rid of it after the 2nd flush if you want.
But as others have said, if you dont mind putting in the tiny amount of time to maintain it and it's not limiting you from spawning more tubs, then keep it around if you'd like.
Sometimes I'll keep shoeboxes around a bit longer because occasionally I'll get an interesting pheno to try and clone in later flushes. It's all situation dependent.
Obviously, if you've gotten 1 flush out of it and it contams, toss it

I toss after the 2nd flush, my grow space is small and I prefer to keep it going with the next round of whatever is ready

Thanks guys. So very subjective topic i take it. If one was looking to optimize time and cost (ie. more substrate and grain prep cost and time to wait and see if a third flush will happen), should they just get get 2 flushes and move on? Is a strong third flush unlikely? I have only gone to 2 flushes but these were experimental only in smaller tubs. These questions are for bigger 80l tubs with a 1:2 spawn to sub ratio (5.5lbs:10lbs).

Flushes are a human description of a natural process. The mushrooms will grow until they cannot. Whether that grow is worth keeping around is up to the cultivator.
