Potency can vary even amongst shrooms within the same patch. A lot of what you read on websites is just hype.

There are a couple of strains that are particularly weak, but they aren't any that are sold by the reputable vendors. For the largest part, potency of Cubes has to do with the growing conditions. If grown properly, even a weaker strain should still make things happen. Drying/storage comes in second. Any significant heat exposure will supposedly decrease potency by half or more, so improper drying could ruin otherwise "killer" shrooms. People used to put shrooms in the oven and dry them out [some still do], or boil them to make tea. The active compounds start breaking down at a very low temperature, so drying at room temp or cooler is the best bet...even better eat 'em fresh.

If you've done everything "by the book" and the shrooms still suck...spring for a new syringe from any of the "reputable" sources or get a Cambo print from Ralphster. Choose the strain more on its growing habits than on its supposed potency. The "spore race" section on the PF site is a good no-bull description of the various strains.
