Does any of you live in a desertic climate?

Like mostly sand, very few vegetation with snakes, spiders and scorpions?
Do you enjoy it? Does bleakness and desolation bother you?
I personally can't imagine myself living in arid climate. I've been surrounded by trees and vegetation my whole life.
Is it something that you get used to it because it's what you've had all your life?

I lived in Peru last year. The entire ocean side leading up to the Andes is pure desert, jungle on the other side of the mountains.
It was weird as hell, I'm from Michigan and I've never seen anything like it. Just sand dunes and sun and rocks.

I live in phoenix. We have trees here you dolt just like any city.
If I feel the urge to see proper forests, its about an hour north outside the city to get into the mountains with a proper pine forest. Arizona is a beautiful state.
To the south we have massiiiivveee sand dunes, like the ones you see in movies that depict 'deserts'. Sand skiing is a thing.
To the east we have the petrified forest, the painted desert, monument valley and a ton of other cool places.
The land directly outside of phoenix is pretty ugly though. It's pretty barren. It's not sand though. Most deserts are not sand. It's flat hard dirt called Caliche.
About half the state is some form of desert climate, but it varies a TON on how it looks and what sort of vegetation and wildlife there is. The other half is mountains and forests.
The heat sucks but humidity sucks WAY MORE. I'll take 110 and no humidity here over 90 with 50+ % humidity somewhere else any day. I took a work trip to New York and Connecticut years ago and they sent me in July. The second I stepped off the plane I felt like I was drowning. Immediately drenched and sticky. Was so gross.

Spend a month of Fuerteventura island which is commonly referred to as a lunar landscape
I love it, but I have a preference for wide open spaces
I think the dessert lends itself well to people who have a tendency for introspection and pondering the nature of reality

Miles and miles of miles and miles. There's something massively peaceful about deserts. Don't live there anymore but I'd go back to another desert for sure. It grows on you plus hunting mescaline Cactus is a special treat.

you dig a hole and there is a little bit of top soil then pure sand, and you find rounded rocks shaped by ancient waves
and we have a lot of sand dunes too, when I was a kid/teenager we had a family friend who lived on a hobby farm up here, they had giant dunes a 5-10 minute walk from their back door, I tried to ride my snowskate down them a few times but it didnt work too well, thats why in starwars 7 when Rey rides a piece of scrap metal down a dune I was like that would never work

are those snowboards or are they some sorta special board, cause my snow skate worked for shit, sand would pile on the front and stop it, but the dunes I rode were a bit steeper too, from the top there was like a 2-3 foot drop then a steep hill

I love Arizona. The drive from north AZ to south AZ is like mystical I was high as a kite for those drives but still shit's insane. There's probably no other place in the world with as dramatic in the changes of landscape scenery and elevation changes

Bleak, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I just got back from a nice alpine desert hike. I've lived in a lush tropical place, the beautiful smokies & NE Applachia.
But fuck humidity. It makes it colder and it makes it way hotter.

I grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii on the dry side of the island. Most of the island is barren Lava landscapes. Its mostly desert there. It was really nice in some ways but also bleek in other ways. I prefer the forests but seeing all the trees in my little Hawaiian town was like an Egyptian Oasis. It was pretty cool.
Deserts are great for exploring cause it always feels like Summer as its so dry and sunny. But yeah, it can feel a bit bleek at times seeing so little trees around.
I prefer the forests thou, or what i call "desert forests", not too shaddy, not too barren, juuuuust right

Def doesn't always feel like summer here. Our winters get cold as fuck. It hits below freezing multiple times throughout the winter in phoenix. Just no snow because there is no moisture in the air. Cold and dry BITES into you.

I don't know how people do it! I lived in Florida for 8 months and couldn't handle the heat! White people just aren't designed for hot climates. I'm staying in the north!
