Hey legends!! Im a noob and i just inoculated 3 popcorn jars which i think i didn’t do it properly. I soaked the corns for 24 hours, simmered it for 30 mins and then it for good 30 mins until not a single drop was pouring then i pc it for an hour but the result i got was this :

I still inoculated them so imjust gonna see if it works out. Anyway, now im thinking of either doing the popcorn tek again with a spoonful of gypsum soaked and simmered in coffee and and water mix. Ive heard good things about this mix to speed up the mycelium growth. Or i can also order WBS and do the coffee/gypsum mix but im not sure about the ingredients that im getting bere in India. Could u please tell me if the ingredients mentioned here would be alright for grain spawn? Would it be better than popcorn tek? And also any suggestions for coffee gypsum tek? Would it be helpful? Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks Here’s a list of ingredients i would get in my wbs

For the substrate im using coir, i have vermiculite and perlite that i got from a local store but most of the vermiculite is in powder form, can i use it? Or should i buy some

Ok you should stop buying and wasting materials until you read up some more.
DITCH COFFEE. Popcorn is for popping. Gypsum is unnecessary, and seemingly used as a crutch for poor tek adjustment.
Considering you're in India you surely have access to PC and bulk grains. You want a proper cereal, not rice. Oats, rye, wheat, milo, millet are commonly used. Check what they markets have and I reccomend learning to use multiple grains. Prep your grains separately so as to achieve consistent hydration in prep.
You don't need perlite or verm, although they have their functions.
PC times will likely need to be longer than 1hr.
Start with agar. Use a SAB and/or FH.

Everything in this entire post is absolutely true, I just wanted to emphasize this sentence from it that you should really start with agar. I had to do this after tons of bad vendors and spores. Although I've heard arguments between PDA and MEA and whatnot, they are still superior to trying to spawn to grain directly in every case I've seen.

I found this one for oats. It says it is minimally processed to remove the outer hull, will that work?

Are you looking at some online listing for these dehulled oats? Sounds expensive. Literally go to the market and get a 50lb sack or whatever comparable size is available. In USA 50lb of oats are like 8-15$ from farm feed stores.
