Right now I'm the opposite, I have tonnes of nopours and lots of jars ready to be filled but I keep transfering my stock of grown out plates before I can get them on grain I'm just so addicted to making batches of agar Just talking about it got me feeling like getting up and just making more for the hell of it

Hey pasty remember i told you i had tested several RW cultures that reverted?
I wanted to see what color id get with isolates, and the first one i fruited came out rusty and white
This isolate and the 3 different cultures i had throw mixed colors (and no rust) all came off the same print
Idk i just thought it was cool to see and thought you might as well

That’s pretty cool man, thanks for the update! I guess with it being two double recessives a fair bit of diversity will always be expected.

Yeah its really interesting to see it play out like that
Id really love to learn more about how imdividual strains group and which genes actually get expressed in a given fruit. Like tag every strain (and strain grouping) in a culture then compare it to a fruit to see which ended up present in the fruitbody
Like with that ancient honey mushroom in the PNW, is it genetically homogeneous? Senescence? Gene/strain coming from new colonies? When we say 8k yr old, are we talkimg about the same colony or the exact same genetics for 8k yr?

Aug 20th
Things are starting to take shape. Workspace is becoming more useable, still have some clothes in the closet and a big gross bed that is getting out ASAP. But my agar is coming clean so I’m confident these first spawn jars will be okay. However, I gave a bunch a shake about 30 hours ago and I suspect a little bacteria at play. Not so bad that I’m going to not spawn em but I do think I might have gone a bit heavy on the LC. It wasn’t super thick and so I used a bit extra. Meh it’s probably fine. The three rows that are almost done are the ones I’m concerned about. The rest look okay so I ain’t shook.
Got me some monos drilled out and a big ass cooler full of coir verm ready to roll. Thinking tomorrow I will spawn at least 3 tubs.

Got some grain ready to come out of the sterilizer now so next I’m gonna turn on the hood and get busy. Bent a needle the other day, it’s probably time to replace it lol. But I’m not even gonna try and aspirate the last of this ms RW EzLC, it’s thick af. Gonna just pour it and I bet it does fine. RW clones LCs are going to be coming soon enough and I still got PEU and APE LC to finish up. Gonna need to get busy running grain and it might be time to switch to bags. Never done WBS in bags before so it might be interesting.

Finally the crazy cake things are doing well, first four are gonna be fruited in a mini mono.

I’m thinking things are gonna real speed up soon, these LC’s can recover pretty good when poured and thick like this. I’m hoping these 12 beat most of the others. Time will tell.

Yes. It’s only about 62 F in the basement here. I’ve been considering moving to a cooler climate though, anything over 70 is crazy hot for me.

That sounds amazing. Next time I move will be somewhere similar.
I absolutely love the cold to the point people hate coming to my house in winter yet I ended up somewhere with some of the hottest possible summers.
Those coir cakes look pretty cool I might start doing some of those for clone hunts.

Aug 21st
Spawning day! Spawned three tubs with this coir I got at a hydro shop. It feels really clean and I don’t smell any trich. No debris at all, really clean for real. Did three tubs with 4 quarts of WBS each. Also I cased the first four of the mini cakes and put em in a mini mono. Cases with coir. I should have let them consolidate a bit more cause the centre wasn’t as strong as I would have preferred but, they were knotting. Gonna do these again with a slightly smaller volume container.

Been a busy man but I do have time for a bump!
Got 5 monos of RW spawned and a few are looking like they are going to have knots. The 5th one was just spawned yesterday so I’m not expecting it to look like much yet. But the first three are looking healthy I think. They have gotten a light mist today. All are RW F9 ms.

Also am top fruiting a mono full of cake things. They look alright methinks. In the spirit of cake things I’m going to knock up a bunch more. Time to do some potentially fatal tests.

Quick bump, been a busy boy today. Ran grain, spawned a tub, aspirated a bunch of syringes, shook grain. Feels good to have stuff fruiting again I’ll tell ya that. Spotted some pins in a few tubs as well
Syringes

Cake things

Some fruiting tubs
