Where can I get the power plug for this Fan Filter Unit?
    #26817385 - 07/11/20 01:31 PM (3 years, 6 months ago)

It’s a 277V unit. I will need to alter the power supply to connect to a downstep transformer for 110/120 and then a plug into the wall or am I better off opening the controller and stripping the wires from that prong plug and wire from there? T.I.A

This thread was moved from Advanced Mycology.

Reason:
You need a step up transformer not a step down. You have 120 in your home it needs to be turned into 277v.

They're expensive. You'll need one rated for at least 500va (watts)

Looks like an Amphenol plug.

That looks like it's just the controller for a single (likely fairly high-powered fan). Do you have a fan to go along with it?

Anyway, if you're just building a fan/filter unit, it's more straightforward to just get a 110V fan and wire it up to a single on/off switch and from there to your power outlet. This control box is mostly suited for an industrial environment where there's a number of fans being run that need to be automatically monitored from a control center.

How do you figure it's 277V when it clearly states the input on the bottom as 200-230V

If it was me, I'd take the cover off and hard wire it.  Input says 200-230V 1PH AC.  If you're in the US, you've got 240V  1PH  AC at your house.  That extra 10V shouldn't harm anything
