1st time grower , B+ variety
Woke up this morning and when i went to turn on the lights, I noticed this fuzz attacking? a few of the mushrooms. I say attack? because it looks like its reduced the size of one of the stems considerably, but i honestly have no idea. Ive looked at other posts about white fuzz but none of those had stem size reduction of the mushrooms. I almost want to say its rotting away.

I think you need more fresh air exchange. I don't know what happened to that one stem, but I have seen a whole lot worse from new growers. I don't see contamination or anything that's going to ruin your grow.

I don’t see contamination but those are extremely wet.

10-4. definitely over misting then. still trying to find the right balance of wetness. need to just make them glisten and leave em alone for the day. i just didnt want them to dry out since thats a reason for under sized mature mushrooms.

I don't see any mention of fanning..
Fan between 3 and 6 times a day for 60 to 90 seconds if you aren't already doing that. Maybe over-misting isn't the problem if you're not fanning. If you are, then yeah you're correct about over-misting.

I've also seen that happen to a stem.
For me it was a pin that started in the jar and grew a good 1.5inches before dunking/rolling/fruiting. The whole length of the pin that was in the jar turned into that and a healthy mushroom grew from it. I just ended up snipping it right where it started looking healthy, and I left that nasty looking thing on there for subsequent flushes. I had no issues with it contaming out.

Other than that, looking good as everyone else has said :thumbup:

Literally searched over misting and one of the quotes were

"really dark caps, ones that split in the middle, really hollow stems, that yellow to tan color of stipes rather than the more white coloration, being chode shape, maturing early and translucent edges on caps at maturity"

definetely dark caps, ones split in the middle, hollow stems, some chodes and maturing early aF! the two on the backside of the cake in the first picture dropped their veils sometim between taking the picture this morning and right now.

Yeah your shit is way too wet I wasn't disagreeing with that. But if you're not fanning at all, much less of the water you mist will evaporate. Nothing was mentioned about your fanning schedule, just wanting to make sure you understood that was also important...

Gotcha! Yeah, after going over the site before my grow, there seems to be quite a few people on either side of fanning. Some say do it, some say useless. But in my case it is def needed. I have been fanning 3 times a day, but when i would mist, I fkn doused the cakes til water drops would form on the fruits. LOL such a bad idea. That cake not only matured completely over night, but my over zealous misting also hollowed out the stems and promoted Pseudomonas to start growing on a few of the caps.
