Vertigo- Very important to know 1

Vertigo is the feeling that you're moving or the room is spinning when you're sitting still. Now it can be caused by LOTS of things, but most of the time, it's little calcite crystals inside your ear that tell your brain your body is moving get knocked loose and into a channel of the ear that they aren't supposed to be.
It's extremely uncomfortable and a terrible feeling, and if you DIDN'T know what caused it, you might think something was SERIOUSLY WRONG, when, it could be, but also if it's just the crystals in your ear got loose, there's a series of simple exercises to fix the problem.
Now, mind you, while doing the exercises you have to INDUCE the vertigo, to fix it, to get the stuff in your ear back in place.
First, find out which ear the vertigo is coming from( google how to do that)
Next, perform one of 5 maneuvers. I found the Epley Maneuver the easiest and safest for me.
Quote:
Epley Maneuver If your vertigo comes from your left ear and side: ( same thing but opposite if from the right)
Sit on the edge of your bed. Turn your head 45 degrees to the left (not as far as your left shoulder). Place a pillow under you so when you lie down, it rests between your shoulders rather than under your head. Quickly lie down on your back, with your head on the bed (still at the 45-degree angle). The pillow should be under your shoulders. Wait 30 seconds (for any vertigo to stop). Turn your head halfway (90 degrees) to the right without raising it. Wait 30 seconds. Turn your head and body on its side to the right, so you're looking at the floor. Wait 30 seconds. Slowly sit up, but remain on the bed a few minutes. If the vertigo comes from your right ear, reverse these instructions. Sit on your bed, turn your head 45 degrees to the right, and so on. Do these movements three times before going to bed each night, until you've gone 24 hours without dizziness.
Let me tell you, vertigo sucks. And it's a pretty easy fix.
There's tons of youtube videos as well demonstrating these tactics.
Anyone else have vertigo before? Did you try one of the exercises to fix the ear thing?

It could be other problems, but let me tell you, if it's the simple ear thing, which I described called :
Quote:
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is an inner ear disorder in which changes to the position of the head, such as tipping the head backward, lead to sudden vertigo – a feeling that the room is spinning. BPPV is not a sign of a serious problem.an inner ear disorder in which changes to the position of the head, such as tipping the head backward, lead to sudden vertigo – a feeling that the room is spinning. The simple exercises are a lifesaver. It sucks to do them because it brings the vertigo on, but wow, it's worth it.

I recall my girlfriend telling me about having had a procedure just like this done that remedied it in the past. It hasnt become a significant problem for 4 or 5 months but next time it does i am gonna give it a shot. No need to pay a PT for a procedure this simple.

Elevators fuck me up not going to lie. It used to be super uncomfortable.....until I just changed the way I perceive the situation instead of looking at it like a negative thing I just look at it as a way to get fucked up for free

No, I saw a PT the first time but it was honestly not needed.
All the information is on google and youtube.
I only went because it was recommended to have a professional show you first, but it's really not.
It's safe, effective, and wow. Getting rid of vertigo is awesome. 2-3 days of it and I was ready to try anything.

I don't think there's an easy non prescription way to deal with that other than getting to the root of the cause of the anxiety and fixing it.

Actually great thread. This happened to my mom and she looked it up online and it completely cured her. Something about dislodging crystals in your ear area. Sounds like complete bullshit but it was night and day difference for her.

My vertigo is permanent. Once you’re forced to deal with it for life it becomes old hat.

Well my mom makes me drive her everywhere because of the condition. She has a really nice car shes talking about giving to grandma because she says shes incapable of driving. I need the car so much more than those people so I'm salty AF. I dont say anything about it though because I'm a good boy

I can get super drunk till the room would normally start spinning but I keep drinking because the room was already spinning.
