People who are confident doing grain to shoeboxes, what tips would you give others?

I’ve had a pretty easy going time doing shoeboxes, but there’s always something to learn. What tips would you give others? It can be anything from the beginning (example, rinsing grains) to the end (example, harvesting tips.)
One thing I feel has been helpful is I stuff my polyfil into my jar lids with a screwdriver. Lids upside down, they’re easier to come off after the PC. After the sub was colonized, I just keep my lids cracked and not locked shut.

The only tip I could add is, when I've got the grains and agar in the SAB I like to tilt the grains to the side leaving slope almost. Then when I throw the mycelium pieces in the little void it's easy to tip the grains back over covering all the agar pieces... Then shake vertically a few times to push them down to the bottom(just so they don't get stuck to the lid) before I do a another shake to spread them around abit.

I can add to this by saying that lately I have started making agar very soft so that when I inoculate jars and shake it up, it almost goes liquid. Kinda nice, no slice stuck to the id and all of that stuff.

i prefer invitro now for these reasons.

You can learn a lot by leaving the lid on and not misting the first flush.
