First monotub, curious if this is considered normal or a contamination of some sort...

This is my first grow, so I can't tell if this is some sort of contamination or just normal. Some details on my setup...
- Strain - GT from syringe
- Substrate - pasteurized coco
- Enviornment - The monotub is in a grow tent that is kept between 70F-78F. I have an LED light in the tent that is on a 20on/4off schedule. The monotub has plenty of holes covered by breathable tape. The tub is misted and "fanned" multiple times a day. The tub doesn't have any odd smells.
During the first week of colonization I kept the tub in a tied garbage bag, which I thought may have caused an issue with the mycelium. At first I thought this was cobweb mold (which it may be), but it doesn't seem to be spreading any longer, and if it is, it's extremely slow.
I do have pins coming in as of yesterday, but i'm still worried...am I being a helicopter parent or is there an actual issue?

"Plenty of holes" then you built the monotub wrong. You need 6 holes, 4 at the very least. MS is generally shitty for monotubs so you should have done agar. If you have the coir at FC then you don't need to mist unless things look dry. I can see cracks but the substrate isn't dry so that means that you are messing with the tub and it's causing the sub to crack. Subs don't fracture like that on their own. They'll grow when they grow but there is a such thing as doing too much.
If you had a SGFC then misting and fanning would be expected but you built a monotub so you should leave it alone, quit checkin.
Stop misting, and definitely stop fanning. Too much airflow, also the more you mist, the more you risk contam. Cubensis is aerobic, but not when you are drowning it with fanning and water.
Looks fine, and if you've got pins then you've got pins. Keep growing. STOP MISTING & FANNING for 1 week and tell me what happens.

Yep, you're right, the sub was cracked due to a small fall during early colonization. My fault on that.
Regarding the holes, I followed willy's world instructions from his "set it and forget it" tub, without the fan. FAE holes are 3" from the bottom, and 2 inches apart all around the tub. Gas Exchange holes (6) are 1.5 inches above the FAE holes.
Thanks again for the info - I'll leave it alone!

That sounds like a lot of holes. There is a lot of strange stuff found off the shroomery. Not that everything here is perfect, or info from elsewhere is all wrong, but the well known teks here are the bees knees. For a modified mono you want two 1.5” or so holes on each long side right above the substrate and a couple inches in from the ends. And then one hole on each short side high up. 2”
No need to colonize in the dark, and wrapping it in a bag is always bad. You can spawn directly into fruiting conditions or at the very least don’t suffocate the sub. Mushrooms breath air, they got lungs, jobs etc etc. just like us. Cubes like to grow at night too so idk about 20 hours of light. They arent like plants that grow more with more light.
That tub looks a little unhappy but not contaminated I don’t think. I see plenty o knots. I’d just watch it and mist when it’s dry. Misting and allowing air to a bulk sub do not cause contamination. If your spawn is clean it will be fine, and if it’s not clean it won’t matter anyway usually. Over misting can give bacteria an edge but that just means don’t soak it over and over.
