Found in woodchip but actually looked like it was coming out of the dirt... can’t remember the name of the active species, has a bit of a blue tinge and flecks, yeh... not convinced.

Psilocybe weraroa
Has the bisected fruit showed any further bruising? Even without apparent bruising the gills say it all.

Funny you should say that... just checked on the lill nug and low and behold - a good sign no doubt
Thanks for the ID rog, I’m mad skeptical with other species so super stoked. Also I have the “drug scale” everyone on here seems to have haha - 9.6g
Is it weird to find just one on its own? Buzzy az

100% Psilocybe weraroa.
You found only one on it's own because you are the original weak hauler. Haul game atrocious.

Haha So fuckin true, man I’m out every day hunting accessible habitat while my daughter sleeps in the car so I put the hours in man and still only weak as patches!
Do you know the potency for these - not listed on the shroomery species info.

Not as strong as subaeruginosa or a subsecotioides, but still will kick your ass.
An old head here who hunts weraroa recommends you try them fresh for better potency.
They still will store some potency dry, but not as potent as a dry sub...
Either way, it's a psilocybe so congratulations.

Cool man yeh I thought better to eat fresh I read that thread about drying them with the cat sub topic in it that you posted in. Sounds like they are a pain in the ass once they’re dry.
Yeh man any find is a good find and these are super buzzy looking so stoked.

Yeah I have had dry weraroa before. Some of the bigger specimens were hard as a fucking ROCK yo...
Poor sap I sold those to would have had a real tough time tryna bite through those bitches...

I'll go ahead and compare you to the likes of myself. We both live in Auckland.
Dolanduck: Started hunting in 2020. (Old man with a young daughter who gets left to sleep in the car while he hunts) Year 1#2020 (Age=Unknown) Found = subaeruginosa and weraroa
RogerTheRetard: Started hunting in 2014. (Stoner high school kid who researched about magic mushrooms and put research into action) Year 1#2014 (Age=16) Found = subaeruginosa Year 2#2015 (Age=17) Found = subaeruginosa Year 3#2016 (Age=18) Found = subaeruginosa and subsecotioides Year 4#2017 (Age=19) Found = subaeruginosa, subsecotioides and tasmaniana Year 5#2018 (Age=20) Found = subaeruginosa, subsecotioides, tasmaniana and angulospora Year 6#2019 (Age=21) Found = subaeruginosa, subsecotioides, tasmaniana and angulospora Year 7#2020 (Age=22) Found = subaeruginosa, subsecotioides and tasmaniana
TBH I never have found fresh weraroa in the wild myself...
In your 1 year of hunting you crack your own wild weraroa find... In my 7 years of hunting I have only ever cracked dry weraroa from another cat...
Your ass been at it for only 1 year and you find a species that I have not ever found in my 7 years.
For that, I applaud you.
