CRAM THAT FREEDOM UP YOUR ASS, Hartford
Wearing a mask in public is about safety and that's it, nothing else. You refusing to wear a mask says that you're selfish and have the mentality of a 4 year old child
Don't come crying when someone makes you pick your teeth up off the ground for not wearing a mask in public
Michigan governor just ordered all stores to rufuse service to dumb fucks that won't cover their faces or stores risk losing their license if they don't enforce it. Get caught in public area without a mask on it's a $500 misdemeanor ticket.

If health-care facilities become over taxed to the point of failure, the consequences will be much more restrictive than voluntary mask wearing. I don't think it's just the conservatives who aren't wearing masks there's plenty on the liberal side and apolitical goofballs who are acting irresponsible, the personal freedom is strong in the US with everyone.

I believe in personal freedom too.
I don't, on the other hand, view mask wearing as an infringement on my personal freedom. If everyone had a little compassion and wore masks of their own free will then we wouldnt need mandates and such.
If anything I feel slightly more free because of a certain sense of anonymity with the masks. The other day I walked into a bank wearing a face mask and sunglasses, when else would that be appropriate?

I can see how it would feel like the loss of personal freedom it took me a couple of times wearing a mask to feel comfortable with it on.

I like the personal freedom argument.
It gives me the freedom to risk your life. I wonder if it'll hold up in court against a DUI charge?
I already accept no responsibility to report crimes/injuries. Someone bleeding in the street? Not my problem. I step over them and keep on walking. That's mostly because I don;t want to deal with police, though. Don't need my name or my phone number recorded in their system.

Im sure it takes lots of chicks a couple times wearing a bra before it feels comfortable.
I felt uncomfortable the first few times I had to put on deodorant. We do these things for the sake of others. Wear deo so you dont offend with your smell, wear a mask so you dont offend with your sickness.
Sooner or later you grow out discomfort caused by minor inconveniences like covering your face while you shop. What I say to the whiners? Grow up or don't leave your house if you dont want to be an adult about it.

I don't wear deodorant. I did for a year or so in middle school, but I grew out of it in 8th grade.
Haven't had any complaints. Whole thing is a giant scam by Big Deodorant.

People haven't complained because theyre kind.
I dont wear deodorant if I dont plan on leaving the house. But the fact that I smell is undeniable as I can smell myself, and if I can smell myself, others can smell me more strongly.

Funny you say that.
I actually had this same conversation not that long ago with some coworkers, in which I straight up asked them if I smelled. Now, I picked the coworkers I asked carefully. These are the people that I openly discuss salary and other "socially unacceptable" topics with, and they are all equivalent to me in terms of, I guess, "rank". These aren't the guys that have a vested interest in keeping me happy.
Literally none have told me I smelled. They actually told me I didn't smell. Some of them phrased it as an offensive statement, after I poked fun at their tendency to come in with loud cologne (and perfume, for the female minority) in the morning which dissipated by the afternoon.
The other funny thing is the article I linked openly states that's how deodorant was first popularized: advertising that said "you still smell, people are just too polite to tell you".
Makes me wonder how much of that is actual society and how much of that is what people think society thinks.
Another factor that I have considered in the past, is adaptation. I assume there is a biological reason for smell, personally. Maybe with modern life it isn't necessary, but still present. Which means if you apply deodorants and antiperspirants, your body works harder to make you smell/sweat. This is a bit like an addiction feedback loop, which ultimately requires you to use more deodorant more frequently to avoid the growing stink.

Cologne is bullshit.
Dude it has nothing to do with social conditioning. I have multiple gutter punk friends that dont wear deo ever and they fuckin stink.
If I go more than a day without at least rinsing off, I stink. I dont need someone to tell me I stink, I can smell it myself.

I mean, I don't skip showers. If I'm leaving the house tomorrow, I'm showering the night before, and I keep my sheets clean.
I just don't wear deodorant on top of washing myself. I guess this also plays into the fact that most of my physical activity happens at the end of the day. Apart from inspecting machinery and the production floor, my job is almost entirely in office, and I do my workouts after work.

I was surprised when the mask issue became a political issue, and once that was decided people quickly took sides. For example, a liberal friend came over to walk in the woods, he wore his mask in the fucking woods. I took my dog with us. After petting my dog, he said he wouldn’t let anybody pet his dog because they might give it COVID. BTW, there has been a corona vaccine for dogs for many years.

So far with only a small sample it looks like liberals heavily favor wearing masks, while conservatives mostly don't wear masks but to a lesser degree.
It is crazy to me that wearing masks has become political. It could have easily been a conservative trait to wear a mask. Trump could have started a narrative like "wear a mask keep America healthy and great" while fringe leftists believed it was all a conspiracy. Or maybe it's the right's tendency to deny science coupled with the whole personal freedom ideology that makes them not wear masks.
I wear a mask in public and I'm not a trump supporter. Even if there is a slight chance it will help slow the spread I'll wear it. I believe it does stop droplets of spit from going into the air and that's the main benefit. I think trump's behavior and the things he says made the controversy much worse, and more people will die due to his actions. He just can't admit that there's a problem. It's all about image to him and it's causing him to pretend nothing is wrong. As more time goes by it's just going to get worse so it's not a good position for him to have before the election.

Also if you really think about what trump said it makes no sense. "numbers are only rising because testing is increasing". If everyone in the country was tested for covid-19 in 2018 there would be zero positive results. My point is that there can't be positive results without the virus. The numbers are increasing because the virus is spreading.

Fauci said neither of those things. Are you intentionally trying to mislead people? Or were you just misled by other people?

You're right. That turned out to be misinformation.
This was from a lady who claims secret societies are trying to harm and depopulate the world...because humans are destroying the environment.
